The city is beautiful and majestic. The campus (both King's and Central) is modern and easy to navigate around. The University buildings are spectacular both inside and out. Teaching is world class as some professors are word leading researchers. They are always available to help if it's needed. The geoscience department has improved over the last few years with better feedback and teaching resources. This has made a big difference to learning and will continue to make a difference to future students. The sports facilities are the best in Britain. A huge gym, enough to facilitate over 1000 students easily. Classes are varied and fun, allowing you to burn calories and get fit whilst studying at one of the best universities in the world.

Great cafes around all campus offering good value coffee. Though Kings campus is far away they are able to supply room and food and a GYM for the students which is great.

Edinburgh university is a great all round university. The courses are well organised and lecturers are of a high standard. The nightlife on and around campus is good too. The food in Edinburgh is great and there are lots of places for students to try on a budget.

The English Language department is very organized but the classes can be a bit boring sometimes as they don't interact, just throw facts at you. The English Lit. course is super interesting and the Sociology course is AMAZING!

The University itself is fairly supportive and works hard to continually develop and improve themselves. The facilities vary from modern and well maintained to some that seem to have been forgotten about but as it is a large university it is understandable. Overall I’m proud to be a student of Edinburgh University

The University of Edinburgh campus is very inviting and makes it a lovely place to study. Some of the lecture theatres are rather old and could do with some updating. My course, psychology, has been incredibly interesting so far and I really enjoy the breadth of study

As a 4th year business student, i spend the majority of my time at the George Square campus. This is where many lecture theatres are situated, as well as the main university library. My business degree comes with vast support from staff in the university, including a personal tutor, head of year, and my dissertation supervisor, as well as other staff in the undergraduate business school. The careers service is very helpful, however, it can be busy and difficult to get an appoint. Make use of it if you can.

Great city, standard university. Good union although the bar is quite expensive. History as a course is taught poorly

Some student support available however the university is very disconnected with the students and most times seems only interested in then when money is involved

The university has been great for me. I am in 3rd Year studying chemistry and have had a great few years. Edinburgh is a small anoigh city everything you need is close enough by but also large enough to feel like a city. The sports facilities are great for anyone wanting to join a sports team or just go to the gym. It is a city with a friendly atmosphere that is great for students

The campuses themselves are well maintained and have everything you need for a great study environment. There are several areas within these campus to eat, however the union could be better as well as some of the sport facilities. Overall, the standard of the university is high.

Campus is amazing, right beside the heart of Edinburgh. Perfect city to be a student: balance of buzz of city life plus quiet scottish countryside is rich in culture. Great state of the art fascilities for teaching and research. High quality education in the perfect location!

As a deemed Russel group university my personal experience here has been sub par and shocking to say the least. My main issue with the institution is that I feel as tho students are just numbers on a page and the university is irrespective of its students feelings. The problem lies in lack of pastoral support and great boundaries between tufent and teacher. Most of my friends complain about the lack of organisatauon and fluidity of their courses - seemingly a universal problem within this institution. I know that it is a repsoected academic qualitification but I feel that the university often gets by by reputation alone.

Fun time however quite uncaring about the mental health of the students considering the little therapist to student ratio.

I have found that edinburgh university is great as it has a great variety of excellent courses taken by knowledgeable professors. But more hollistically the student life living in a beautiful city woth loads of clubs and societies is the main important factor. It's not too party-like and it has so much to offer.

Good education, potential, could do with better organisation and feedback. Focuses a bit too much on research rather than teaching, needs to value its students a little more.

I am extremely glad that I made University of Edinburgh my first choice to go to for a masters programme. I love the University architecture along with the wonderful library that has the best facilities I have come across as yet. The student union has wonderful events and gift shops and are always keen to help students in need for advice. I'm having a great time here in the University of Edinburgh!

Generally decent, though the University administration's obsession with needless bureaucracy and vanity projects means a lot of important services go untended to in favour of unnecessarily high salaries for ceremonial staff (the vice-chancellor, for one), and building renovation projects that are more cosmetic than anything else. You'll definitely have access to a world class education but it is incumbent on you to seek that out. Lots of reviews of the university decry the lack of spoon-feeding, but this is, unfortunately, more a symptom of allowing too many unqualified fees-paying students who were not fully prepared for a university education in school. The facilities are very decent, though there are so many of them you'll be lucky to encounter a quarter of what the uni has to offer over four years.

Teviot is a good space, potterow food is awful, George square is alright, kings buildings are miles away, cheers

As a city Edinburgh is perfect for uni in many ways. It's size gives enough interesting night's out and people to meet. However, small enough that taxis aren't necessary and you feel safe. The university has a wealth of interesting people and activities to do. Negatives, come from the fact the uni is in a perfect city and has a great international reputation. They do not have to spend ages on the more trivial or necessary things to impress students. Whether it is a really cheap union or shuttles everywhere.

Overall the university is absolutely fantastic. Great facilities, an amazing city, interesting courses, and excellent careers events combine to make this a wonderful university experience. The only concern is that although the teaching time is good, a little more would be desirable.

I've immensely enjoyed my time at the University of Edinburgh studying English and Scottish Literature. The reading load is tough, but I've learned so much, and the tutors are always happy to lend a helping hand. Administration isn't always the best, but it's not unbearably bad. It's a university I would certainly recommend to prospective students.
