An excellent university with a historical background. The University has world class teaching staff undertaking original research and presenting these ideas to their students.

Edinburgh University is quite money orientated and is a costly university to be in without adequate financial support.

The University of Edinburgh is gorgeous, lovely old buildings and great atmosphere in and around campus. The staff are all friendly and experienced in their fields. Cost of living can be pricey but there are plenty of cheap bars and places to eat.

The campus is in a great location, very near to the main city so there is everything you want. Aswell, the halls are very near to each other which makes everything very sociable and convenient! The cafeteria food is great however can get a bit boring after a while.

The campus is huge and stunning, with gorgeous buildings both inside and out. Spread throughout the centre of the city, the central campuses are all really exciting and help you to navigate the geography of the capital. Science students have to travel two miles south of the city to go to the King's Buildings science campus which is not ideal however there is a free bus to take people from the central campus to this science campus. Many of the lecture theatres have really different and interesting vibes, see Adam House's basement lecture theatre and the Old Medical School's famous anatomy lecture theatre. Teviot, a student union building is gorgeous however, and this is a theme throughout the whole university, it is very expensive and does not feel at all subsidised. After Oxford and Cambridge, Edinburgh has the highest endowment and so, to this effect, it does seem silly that Edinburgh University does not invest more of its earnings into students.

The campus is all within easy walking distance. Also, compared to other units there is a free bus service to the other campus which I think is a massive benefit! I’ve enjoyed my course so far, it’s had structure and has been a nice level of challenging! The services are incredible here and no problem is too big for them! I’ve throughly enjoyed my experience here so far

Teaching not outstanding, but good campus and facilities. Could use more contact hours but that's impractical given the size of the Uni. Overall, not bad.

The George square campus for humanities is centrally located, the STEM campus called kings is further out. Certain buildings are more utilitarian than others. The campus has got cobbles so some state that there are accessibility issues there and that the grey dark weather is not the best for mental health issues. There is however a great deal of campaigns for mental health and inclusion of people with disabilities.

The campus itself is great and the facilities are wonderful however the teaching on the course varies dramatically in standard.

Masters programs give you lots of freedom in the choice of the courses (there are a tons of them) and they help you figuring out the best schedule. The lecturer extremely supportive and well know in the field of academia.

Good campus and great guest lecturers for my course, Public Health. The student union can be quite expensive for food.

I study chemical physics, about to go into fourth year of a masters. The individual courses for this degree are great on the whole and it is accredited by both the IoP and RSC. However, the communication from each department (physics and astronomy, and chemistry) have dissapointed me a little, as the few chemical physicists have been left out of important mailing lists for both schools on several occasions and it sometimes feels as though we are forgotten because we are so few. That being said though, I love my degree programme and we know that college of science and engineering do value us, despite giving us a hard time now and then (but I guess it's our own fault for choosing such a degree). I have loved my time at Edinburgh uni and will really miss it once I leave, it has been extremely challenging, rewarding and inspiring.

Basically the lecture halls are often over crowded making it very difficult to be able to sit comfortably which does affect your learning in an environment where it’s hard to write

Ideally located with in the city Edinburgh is the ideal city for students who want the convienienc of living in a city but not the hassle of living somewhere too populated and busy. Beautiful campus, great city, great school and facilities.

I did history. It's good in honours pre honours is a little boring and basic. The campus is beautiful and the city is small enough to walk but big enough to have everything you could need.

Edication is pretty good with incredible teaching staff. However, stdent satisfaction is very low. The way they treat the students and the staff is horrible. Overall as a city it os abot boring with nor much to do and a bit overpriced

The campus and facilities at the university are really good and very diverse so there is something for everyone.

First year is a lot harder than it’s typically described but still amazing. I found myself with a lot of catching up to do from the get go having not done A-levels or advanced Highers. Read ahead before the year starts and you’ll be fine

Lovely institution with comprehensive research facilities and a beautiful central campus to go with. Boasts a very international student population as well. Located very centrally in the city too, which is a great plus!

Great place to study with lots of things to do in the city and a beautiful setting. My course is very well organised with a clear outline from a several months in advance of the semester start date. There are also good gym facilities and opportunities available to try almost any sport or join various societies.

Great teaching staff on the history of art course, and good facilities. The libraries are always open and subscriptions to online journals/resources are comprehensive.

The campus was great, everything located at a suitable place and close to eachother, so I didn’t have to walk for too long. Student Union is AMAZING, everyone is there to help you and they do it really well. My overall university experience was great

The university is an excellent space for learning - especially with the number of clubs and societies it has. Of course, this could be improved by a more responsive student support team.
