Cheap night out Cheap taxis home Easy to get to everywhere by walking so not spending money unnecessarily on public transport which is cheap anyway if you do need to use it

Having to live in Wales and 40 minutes away from my university, I am not biased AT ALL. Cardiff is such a lively city, filled with activities to do so you don't get bored. Universities here are within bus and walking distance, the people are lovely. The best thing about the location is how diverse it is, also you'll find yourself fitting into any cultural backgrounds just being you! Everyone is so accepting and if you get to know Cardiff well enough, I'm sure you will feel as safe as I do. Like I said, there are many places to be and things to do from Cardiff International Pool for swimming or health suite to St.David's Shopping Centre with a lot of high street shops, as well as budgeted and affordable places to coincide with your student budgets. My favourite is the Roath Park, all parks in Cardiff like Bute Park are beautiful due to the Castle but nothing beats a lake, ice-cream, ducks, paddle boats and a lovely long walk to cure your hangovers in Roath, I'd totally recommend it! Visit Cardiff for a few days or so, staying in cheap hotels in the centre to find out more for yourself - it's 100% worth it!

Cardiff is amazing there's so many things to do; rooftop mini golf, escape rooms, Cardiff Castle etc. I'm originally from London and so I am used to amazing transport, Cardiff is poor in comparison with not enough bus routes and not regular enough trains. There are great nights out, there is something for everyone. The alternative bars and clubs are wicked! Theres 1000s of places to eat whether you have a chain you really like or want to try a local eatery there are so many great places to eat!

I absolutely love living in Cardiff. There’s such amazing shops and night life over here and it’s really great being not too far away from home as well as being in a city which also has a bay which has an incredible view and it’s not too far to go to a beach in the summer. As it’s a capital I feel the city has a lot to offer and there’s always things going on which I really like!

Cardiff is great. The night life is brilliant and you won’t find a better bunch of people. Despite being the worst of the red brick universities it hasn’t hindered me in getting a job. Definitely worth it considering rent is so cheap and there is a pub on every corner. The SU is great and currently being done up. The main downside is transport (although walking to town only takes 10 minutes) getting out of Cardiff and back home by train is not enjoyable, trains are expensive in and out if you live further than Bristol.

Everything is within walking distance and it's so easy to get around outside Cardiff with the extended transport links and dedicated university nightbus for travel from uni halls to the inner city. There is always something free to do with many cultural spots like the museum, Bute and Roath park, Cardiff Bay sights as well as Cardiff castle and story for a very reasonable price. Cardiff is a great city that does not overwhelm you with its stark metropolitan nature, it's actually more like a really big town with a very friendly air, a great stepping stone from living at home to living alone. 10/10 would reccommend

Cardiff is a fantastic city with absolutely everything in walking distance - university, student accommodation, the shops, parks and the gym. It's a very friendly city and always has things going on along Queen Street - often the filming locations of Doctor Who and Sherlock!

I like that Cardiff has the culture and opportunities of things to do that a capital city can offer but is also not too big and busy at the same time. As a student, it's really good that you can walk pretty much anywhere o easily catch a cheap train to the Bay or Barry Island, for example. The nightlife is also pretty good, with a diverse range of clubs and club events on offer.

Good location, safe and quiet but very far away from anywhere such as shops and town. I enjoy living in cyncoed because its only a 2 minute walk 5o lectures but to anywhere else it takes a long time

Many different night clubs with good music and decent drink prices. Great shopping centre with lots of good shops and also many places to eat, including places with lots of options for those with dietary restrictions such as vegetarians, though it can be slightly expensive sometimes generally value for money is good.

Love this town, every choice of food possibly, loads of shopping and a great night out. The town isn’t smaller than other which means I live close to all my friends and I can walk to town in less then 10 minutes, and a bonus that it’s all flat!!

Location of student housing is all within 1 mile of the university and the main shopping centre. You can walk or cycle everywhere. The town has everything you need for food experience and shopping and there is a great nightlife. There are lots of different clubs that do different offers on different nights. The cost of living is extremely cheap with rent costs being low and social activities also being cheap. For example the cinema is £3 for students.

Cardiff is the ideal location for students. Everything is within walking distance however still has all of the perks of living in a big city! There's plenty of clubs to choose from every night of the week and also has a big shopping centre and loads of places to eat out. Living is cheap and nights out aren't expensive either, overall 10/10 location.

Overall, the city of Cardiff is a place with many things to do and many places to see. The city centre is full of vibrant and fun places to go out and have an amazing time with your friends. There is also a lot of places to see, such as the Cardiff Castle and lovely walks like Bute Park or Roath Park Lake. Top Notch! 10/10 would visit again

Cardiff is one of the top places to be it wasn’t originally my first choice for unveristy but I’m so glad I chose it over any other uni. The night life never fails to impress and there’s always something to do in the day time. I highly recommend Cardiff to anyone thinking of going to uni, there’s always a place and things to do for any bugdet. The shopping is even better everything’s conviently in one place so you never feel yourself at a loose end and it’s surround by food. The stadium adds a great atmosphere making trips to pubs for matches so enjoyable, I couldn’t imagine being at any other location for uni and I am so glad I chose Cardiff, so if you are looking to experience great new things Cardiff is definitely the place.

Amazing city! Great size, which makes it easy to travel around. Very student friendly, lots of shopping locations and a huge variety of pubs, bars and clubs for a night out.

The value for money is amazing especially when looking at accommodation for next year when comparing it to the rest of my friends. The night life is also really good as the majority is centred in one area with easy taxi drop off and pick up locations

Cardiff is pretty clean city, it can get wild thought. It you are coming from other parts of Europe, you could find it a bit pricey. All in all not a bad place to be.

Nights out or walking alone at night feel completely safe. I’m from a small market town and feel the same level of safety when alone which is surprising from such a large city. I like how easy it is to learn your way around and after my first trip here I already felt like I belonged here. So many shops that my bank account hates me but I love it
