Overall there are 8 university's around the central radius of Cardiff, nightlife is major key as clubs and student bars are all about 20-30minutes away from all the halls and are easy to travel to by foot, train, bus or taxi hire. Cardiff has two large shopping centres which can be found in central with various shops what include high and low clothing brands to suit all customers! Cardiff is a great location to study for students on both a low and high pay rate!

Location wise really good. Best of both worlds in terms of city life and country life. There's the city centre which is right next to a big castle. You don't see that everyday. Lots of little cute shops and arcades.

The location of the school and engineering is right next to the town centre. Which means that it is easy to go into town between lecture and because we live opposite the building we are close to everything really.

Cardiff uni is located very close to the city centre which is very convenient. The library is a decent size and there are a lot of societies available for freshers to join. Overall a fab area with loads of shops, bars and cafés.

Wonderful opportunity to meet people, social events and nights out. City feels very safe and has lots of nights on, yet arguably less variety of musical nights. Jazz clubs are wonderful. Cheap housing and general living costs are quite low. It is easy to walk around the city and get between universities and accommodation without needing a car. (public transport also everywhere) Plenty of shopping opportunities - two shopping centers, and more independent shops. Cathays (student area) has many smaller supermarkets and shops/pubs without even going to town. Same with huge variety of restaurants/bars and things to do.

with night clubs, restaurants , cafés and shops of any genre - cardiff is the place to go to university! Whether living in student accommodation located in the heart of the city, or a simply 10 min walk to student town ‘Cathays’ , you are never short of entertainment or something to do.

A vibrant, modern city, with an easy access to everything needed for a day to day living. City centre has everything from shops, bars, restaurants to cinemas, theatre, stadium and an arena.

Cardiff despite being a brilliant night out with loads to do is perfectly located to access Wales and the South West of England. Offering easy access to dozens of top towns, countryside views and historical locations.

Shopping is amazing, so much there both cheap and expensive. Same with food, so much choice!! Night life is amazing, equal amounts of gay and regular clubs which is nice.very diverse range of people there which when your from a small town like me is really amazing. I think theres plenty of things to do. I've recently signed up for pole lessons which is something I've always wanted to do. Students pay less for gym so that's always there. If not there plenty of bars clubs and cinemas to go to if that's more your thing

The location of the university is not as central as many other universities to the centre of the city. However, there are very easy transports to and from the university to the city centre. There are many good shops around which are useful when your a student. The vale location is great as it’s very close to the university and has lovely scenery around.

Fabulous place to live, got everything you need from shops, nightlife, history, friendly Welsh folk! Definatley worth coming for uni or just a visit, plenty to do, sports events, concerts, shows! Reasonably priced nights out for students.

The location is bang in the city centre so it's great for most things. The lidl nearby makes grocery shopping easy for students too. However, there are MUCH cheaper places to actually shop elsewhere is Cardiff but are too far away for students to travel.

Great city, easy to reach, and so much to do in such a beautiful country, if you want to leave it's a stone's throw from the valleys and pen-y-fan which is an excellent day walk. The city centre has lots of shopping and places to eat from chains such as five guys and nandos to high end steak houses. The city has a number of world famous landmarks from the glorious city hall and museum to the castle and revamped bay. All in all, the value of housing is very well priced and affordable. Cardiff is the best city in the UK

Student life in cardiff is so good. Food, nightlife, parks, lakes, the castle, it’s all just amazing.

Despite being a capital city, Cardiff often feels more like a town, making it easier to feel more at home. The people are very friendly, there is a vast array of shopping opportunities and places to eat. It’s a very beautiful city with lots of parks and a castle! And yet it’s still much cheaper to live here than many other similar places in the country, making it perfect for students on a tight budget.

Cardiff has a lot of great sights and definitely is a beautiful city. When I first arrived in Cardiff for my interview I instantly fell in love with the city.

Has a capital city feel without the overpopulation or size that this usually comes with. A very wide selection on nights out/ bars etc, as well as other facilities in the city centre. Average cost of a pint is around £3, cheaper in Cathays/ Roath near the university.

Cardiff has a great nightlife whatever you are looking for, plus it’s super cheap. There is plenty of shopping right from high street shops to designer.
