University of York

My student experience in York, so far, was a great experience and I am enjoying my time here. The facilities provided by the University are great and you can get involved in all kind of activities and societies. I lived in campus on my first year and the accomodation is great; the rooms are quite spacious and the they provide loads of things that you may need. The main issue is with the location of one of the campuses because is far away from the main campus and you may spend a bit of time to get to the lectures. The library is a great place to go and study, even between lectures. You may not want to go to the library during exam periods because is really busy and there is no space left for most of the times. The great thing is that you have two gyms that are on campus and you can crack on with your workout. Another thing is that joining a new society, you can get to know other students with the same interests.

Overall the campus is nice, there are some awful buildings but the newer ones are great. Especially heslington east where I lived as a first year as the accommodation is much newer. The course is really good, interesting and the lecturers are great. The facilities are good, especially on hes west with bars and places to eat, the library is also huge. Overall love the uni.

I should say my East Campus one of the best campuses ever. We have a beautiful lake with swan and duck, at night there is rabbit run every corner of the campus. Feel so calm, and all the nature place feel so great with Quite Place one of amazing and must take a picture. I'm an international student the support was great all the staff helpful. The cafe even provides halal food. The Sports Villages were full of the equipment with a lot of classes included in the packages. As a PhD student, they provide me with a comfortable office comprises a kitchen and small pantry for coffee. What else you will ask for the library great the IT services always helpful. For students want nightlife, they have a bar and some local bar also around campus.

Student union provided lots of different events. The campus is Big, which is part of its charm and makes it beautiful, part of the campus is surrounded by a lake. some of the new buildings have amazing facilities.

Overall good university. Good shop and food places on campus, but could do with the bus routes to the uni covering both sides of campus instead of just one side

everything course-wise is brilliant, very well taught lectures and at convenient times. If you miss any they’re all recorded.
