It’s a good uni but more needs to be done to Help student who are self sufficient and don’t have any other support

My lecturers are almost all brilliant at teaching, and make the course very engaging and fun to learn.

As a city campus Portsmouth university is spread out so unless you're going to society meet ups or clubbing you tend to stick with people on your course. Eldon in particular has some stunning facilities. It was refurbished with a Corbusier style and two cafes. The art courses are fantastic with lots of opportunities to get real world experience. There's plenty of support to help you find accommodation, find a job, financial help and advice. Tutors are friendly and enthusiastic to help. Always easy to contact via email.

All the facilities are close together and easy to navigate around. Everything is up to date and the teaching is accurate, informative, engaging and fun.

Lovely city, that is compact making everything in close proximity! Course is really interesting, with a great choice of optional modules with in 2/3rd year. Great career advice and student support!

I enjoy my time in portsmouth university, I have some great friends. University seems to be organised, if I have a complaint I can email them and I do get responded to which shows they care. Teaching method is a bit old school, it could be improved to be honest.

I am currently studying photography at Portsmouth university. The lecturers are very helpful and give good feedback. Photography department has amazing facilities and equipment for students to use. However the printer is very expensive and I think students should get a high quality of printer credit

My usiniversity experience has been good so far, the only downfall has been living in halls as my flat mates are not the nicest. The university has great facilities and it good at making sure that everyone is included. Mental health services are great and tutors and lecturers look out for their students.

Studied two courses here, the facilities are always top notch, the staff can be hit or miss, but the classrooms are always clean and functional, the cafes and restaurants on site are excellent

Brilliant university. Really care for their students, so much support avaliable. They listen to what the students want and do their best to get it.

The student union run loads of good events, societies/clubs, there is loads to get involved in and a good chance to meet people. However the actual union space (bar/club) could be improved. The careers service ‘purple door’ is so helpful, I’ve been able to taken in my CV and have mock interviews which helped me do a placement year. The facilities are average, there are lots of places to work but it can get so busy, not as many social areas as there could be also.

The services and course units that the uni provide to help you find a career when you graduate are great. I feel more confident with my CV and with interview processes because of their preparation. The facilities are modern, particularly the business school. My course has been great for the most part although I feel the units do not relate to eachother very well. The union is good and it’s clear they really care about making change, but they could do better nights out and social activities!

The campus is really well set out and innovative. The course is really interesting however I believe we should be timetabled more to attend uni in third year. Overall my experience here has been really enjoyable.

It's terrible, spent lots of money on rebranding when it could have been spent on resources and better teaching since the teaching is also terrible. My course has made my hate my desired career choice and the teachers are so unhelpful and lazy.

Such an amazing university. In a fantastic location and by the sea. The lecturers are what make the university amazing. The lecturers are extremely supportive and want you to suceed, which is noticeable with the dedication to each and every student. They really are the heart of the university.

The university of Portsmouth overall is a good university. It is what could be considered an up and coming university. However there are some fundamental problems. I pay £9250 a year, for what? I have to move around for lectures, we don’t have our own building for our course, our school has it’s own building but I have nothing in there. We don’t get any books or textbooks for free. The vast majority of lectures are biased and don’t try half the time. We are expected to attend loads of extra lectures but they are hardly relevant. Other courses at the uni get an amazing lab, or faculty. My course gets nothing. I feel that the university sadly doesn’t care about people like me. The university has good support systems for the majority of students. The cafes are good, the library is fantastic. Overall the University of Portsmouth is a good university but I feel that as it’s growing and becoming better recognised it needs to fix some fundamental issues or it could get stuck with a stigma and that’s hard to remove.

The Uni is overall very nice, as it is a city campus everything is within walking distance and unlike a traditional university campus it can be nice to go around the city when moving to different lectures or going to do work.

Our buildings may be all over the place but the facilities are great! The rooms are kept in a pristine condition and the lecturers are really passionate about their subject and the degree which inspires the students.
