As an engineering student I study on bay campus at Swansea university. Bay campus is located 3 miles from the centre of Swansea, and thus from any sort of life. On bay campus there is one tescos express, which is always empty as well as one bar, which serves 2 drinks on tap. Bay campus has a bus transport system with First Bus which is the mode of transport that a lot of students rely on daily. Overall the bus service is expensive and always late. I personally cycle in to uni from Uplands (where I live) every day and the cycle route is always littered with glass. However by cycling in I always arrive faster than the buses because they are so slow. Overall bay campus just needs something closer. There is so much brownfield, unused land between it and Swansea centre that needs shops and other facility's.

The location is pretty fucking amazing. There is the sea near by and there have been a decrease in grand Larson since my experience at UWTSD has started. Overall I would rate this 8/8 gr8 b8 m8.

Middle of nowhere with one superdrug. Useless transport, nice people though. Cheap drinks but nowhere big to eat out. Good uni tho.

A uni right next to the beach... what more can you ask for! The location is great for summer, you can have a mine break between lecture, have BBQ.

Nights out on wind street are so good. The sea being virtually right on your doorstep is so lovely and picturesque. The bay is amazing as are the walks around it. Value for money is definitely decent, as are the variety of shops and places to eat!!

Swansea offers both the benefits of a city, with the perks of being in close proximity to the beach.

There are two campuses. One of them is surrounded by Singleton park, Singleton Campus, and the other one is on the bay of the sea, Bay Campus. Walking through the park or near the sea and feeling the fresh air hit your face is truly a wonderful experience. Need a break? Take a walk about that place. On each campus, there is a mini store along with fresh hot food caterining. The catering, in my opinion, is a little overprice. Although, the price at the mini stores are average. Also, there is a student bar on each campus for a quick coffee or drink. Both campus are easily accessible by the buses which run 24/7. There are many different restaurants and cusine to explore: Italian, Indian, Mediterranean, Welsh, Asian, Portuguese, American and a lot more. I wouldn't recommend eating out much as it can be quite costly. It's less expensive to buy ingredients from a hypermarket and cook.

The uni is right next to one of the most beautiful beaches in the country which is such a unique and amazing thing to have. The night life if also great but what stops it being 5 stars is that the town center isn't that great in terms of shops

Great city by the beach! Shopping is a little sparse but transport and nights out are much cheaper compared to neighbouring Cardiff and Bristol.

Lovely beach, shoppings great, nights out are awesome! Love wine street met so many new people, it truly is a city of culture

The distance of the new campus from the centre of town is quite far but the bus service somewhat makes up for it by running regularly and 24/7. Being so far out of town there isn't anything within walking distance and a lack of student housing nearby. The only shop on the campus is a small Tesco express which means you have to shop more often for a smaller variety of items or get a bus into the centre of town. Swansea itself is a nice enough town with an active and affordable night life.

Good night outs, can be full in some places on nights. Plenty of places to eat before a night out or after. Plenty of clubs and pubs with close distance to eachother I'm places

Swansea University and Swansea itself is a pretty solid place! The all night buses that run around Swansea give students the best chance of getting out and around the town seeing the different things that it has to offer. Nights out in Swansea have practically written themselves into legend. Chances are everyone has a story they can tell about Wind Street and the events that take place but all in all, no one can deny that they’ve had many a good night out in Wond Street.

Town looks a bit run down and unpleasant. Lot of homelessness. Many hidden gems (bars, restaurants, cinemas) and lots of beautiful natural spots to visit.

Lack of nearby shopping development but useful public transport network with lots of choice in terms of places to eat, drink and dance at excellent value

Better than Cardiff.

It’s an average town not much for shopping, nightlife is great though as there is a strip full of clubs and bars. Rent is one of cheapest in UK for students too. Not too far from Cardiff either.

Out standing shops and friendely staffs. God choices to eat. Can get really full at times but great on Christmas. There’s lots of opportunity to work part time there and it’s a good place to socialise and go on a night out. Lots of choices for bars and pubs. Variety of food cuisine.

Swansea University Bay Campus has one of the best locations out of any British Uni. Literally seconds from the beach, and just a 10-15 minute bus ride from the centre of town, there is a wide range of things you can do to occupy yourself or find help with your studies. I think that the standout feature is the ever reliable bus service, which runs almost 24 hours a day, with a bus regularly turning up more or less on your doorstep every 15 minutes.

Close to the beach and not far from the city centre. Great location for all sorts. Bay campus, although also close to the beach, is quite far out of town with nothing more than a Tesco with is very inappropriately stocked (e.g. no sandwiches but raw beef during the summer holidays (dont know what the people who work there would do for lunch!)), therefore not so ideal.

If you love the sea, Swansea is for you! Sea views from Bay Campus lecture rooms make 9ams a bit more bearable and Singleton is just a few minutes walk away from equally lovely views! If you fancy exploring on a weekend, just a bit further a field there is Bracelet Bay, Caswell Bay, Oxwich Bay - all stunning! Best of all you can make fires on the beach which is so fun and makes bonfire night here unbeatable! To top all that off the nightlife is great, Windstreet, Sin, Tooters have your Wednesday, Thursday, Friday nights sorted! Also value for money drinks and accommodation are amazing, I pay so much less than friends in Cardiff / Bristol / Bath! Downsides - it rains a lot, buy as long as you have a good coat and your sorted!

I’m the sun swansea can’t be beat with world renown’s beaches. The new bay campus now sits on the beach, which means you can relax and have drinks on the beach between lectures.
