Swansea is the s***. Got it all. The beach, great. The sun, non-existent but it doesn't matter. Top notch uni experience.

Swansea is basically neighbours with the beach which makes the scenery very beautiful especially when the sun is out. The food here is good and very affordable when it comes to price. Although there arent as much shops, its still a very good and interesting city

I love the beach walks and the amazing sunsets/sunrises you get over the bay! The driving in the gower is amazing too.

On the beach, bit'a sunshine and its nothing but weng. Same for bay campus! Both are relatively close to the town centre so food shopping ain't a great hassle

Small city but packed with students which makes it enjoyable. Great nights out and everything needed around. Good transport links with the rest of the UK and only an hour from Cardiff which is great if you want to get away to a bigger city for the day. Good variety of food from both restaurants and take out venues. Cheap city to live in as a student, and things to do all year round. Lovely location in the summer to visit the beaches around. Public transport could be cheaper, especially for students.

The area is superb with beaches less than a 5 minute walk from my house. The students and locals are friendly and the overall atmosphere is brilliant. If you're moving away from home to come here, it will quickly feel like you haven't left!

The campus is 20 minutes walk away from city centre, there are regular buses to and from also. However there are plenty of restaurants, shops and things to do around campus and even on campus! Cheap place to live (rent wise) and as it’s right on the beach, there’s always nice views and perfect in the summer!

The city centre could use a bit of refurbishment but the beaches, the pier, the coastal path are absolutely magnificent! Pretty cheap city to live in too!

This is a great city. It has everything you could need, a great city with all the shops you want and big supermarkets, good transport that goes most places and easy to access learning and sports facilities. The scenery is great from the beach to the hills and the people are all very friendly.

Great night out most nights of the week, some very decent independent restaurants as well as soon good chains, very good value for money

Nights out in Swansea are my favourite nights out ever! Shopping and eating out could be a lot better though

I don’t go out so I can’t say about the nightlife but Swansea as a city is good for anyone that doesn’t like the busyness of a big city because I was born and raised in the capital of Bulgaria where we have 9 shopping centers and 4 different types of public transport which I really miss but I love the beach. Swansea still has everything that you’d need. It’s cheap to live here

Though transport is not Swansea's charm (increased prices, unregular buses, incorrect information), it has other positive points making up for that. It's scenery is amazing (the beach, definitely worth a whole day). I had my best night out here in Fiction and some food drinks and deserts in Spoons. The food is delicious and diverse (Uplands Diner, Joe's ice-cream, etc.). A good amount of shops, pleasing anyone (especially those who enjoy vintage clothing). Offers a wide range of entertainment, from cinema to concerts, to plays and lasergame. And the best of it all: Swansea is one of the cheapest places in the UK (approved by many of my UK friends)! So come and enjoy Swansea and it's charms as we have been!

Bay campus has a good view of the beach and is meters away from it making for nice walks and scenery. However it is quite far from the city centre so travelling can take a while.

Swansea’s location honestly couldn’t be more ideal. It’s on a beach front with a town centre down the road and everything else you’ll need in walking distance.

I personally feel that Swansea is excellent as in if providing a safe, cheap and overall a good experience in all regards stated above. As a student I often go out for nightlife in Swansea Wednesday (students night) and some Saturdays where I can afford it. I do often limit the nightlife too just 2 or 3 places with pres in the Potters wheel, just outside wind street - Fiction, Jack Murphy’s and Griffin are my go too places. Food down wind street in the day is also very nice, however it’s very expensive so I rarely ever go down there. - me and my friends often opt for the nearby cheap Mac Donald’s.

I’ve lived in Swansea for almost 3 years whilst being at uni and although Swansea is a small city, it has beautiful beaches in the summer and enough places shopping and eat. Spend the day walking down to mumbles and enjoy a nice lunch in verdes or any other cute cafes in the area, or enjoy cocktails in a number of cocktail bars in the evening (2 for 1 in las iguanas). Wind street is the best night out, everything is on one street so not too much walking in heels! Entry fees aren’t too bad and everywhere has deals on drinks on a student night! Swansea has a lot to offer for such a small city. Definitely check it out if you have the chance.

Lots of places for nights out. Variety of places to eat, lots of different cultures so more variety. Not much to do besides lazerzone, the cinema, tenpin bowling, eating and nights out. Most places have value for money. Transportation is awful.

Got everything a town should have. Very nice beach. Town is full of shops and good places to eat. Busses are a bit expensive, but the taxis are fast and alot cheaper if in a group.

Swansea is rather small town in my opinion compared to my hometown in Bulgaria. However, there are plenty of opportunities to spend your free time. Both campuses are aproximately 15 min away from the city center(with uni bus) which provides easy access. There are lots of bars, clubs and pubs and the uni buses operate 24/7 which is a great advantage and saves you lots of pounds on a night out for taxi. Also last but not least the beach is amazing!!! It was like a dream came true to be able to grab my jacket and just go to the beach for less than 10 min where I can chill and disstress from uni.I am definitely happy with my choice of town and university !

Overall Swansea is a complete place to live. It boasts a great nightlife, shops, transport connects all paired with a close university experience. Because it is on the small side the prices for everything are a lot cheaper, something to consider as a student, and the city wide community feels closer. Student living can come as a concern but with some local agencies paired with the university services, you're bound to get a clean and safe place to live.

Nights out are great with plenty of options of clubs mostly down the same street and pubs for pres! The buses and taxis make it easy to get from homes to town. There are also many options for popular shops and supermarkets such as Lidl, Sainsbury’s and Tesco. There are also some cinemas vue and odeon! A beach and habour aren’t far away from town either.

So close to the beach and the gower is nearby and is incredible. Has most necessary amenities nearby without being a huge city. Lots of green spaces. Town centre is the only downside but is being upgraded over the next few years. Night life is great, something for everyone. Would be better if bigger artists came to play gigs.
