I’ve lived in Sheffield all my life, both uni’s are amazing and the night life is ridiculous! There are so many different bars and clubs for everyone from posh cocktail bars to Corp (a trainers and jeans sort of night out)

Sheffield is a small city but full of students, there are loads of activities going on throughout and has many quirky stores too. Nights out are cheap and there is plenty of choice.

Sheffield Hallam has 2 campuses, one which is in the city and perfect location close to the city centre, shops and restaurants, however the collegiat campue is around a 30 minute walk from the city campus, and apart from some cafe’s and restaurants, there isnt much else around the campus.

The location is perfect. It's so easy to get around, the longest distance inside the city center its around 20 minutes walking. So many good places to eat, shop, buy and get around. It is also a very safe area

Decent enough value. Plenty of Spoons. Nights out are fairly decent and not too expensive. Plenty shops nearby but it's a bit hilly

Nights out: Lots of really nice cocktail bars and pubs but not a wide selection of clubs, most places are close together which is really ideal and there are really nice takeaways for the end of the night Food: Many nice restaurants across the city, lots of different styles but some can be quite hard to get to. Also lots of cheaper food markets and small cafes Shopping: Shops in the city centre are limited but Meadowhall has every shop you would need In general, good value for money. Many places offer a variety of discounts and student deals The city centre is mainly a nice place but there’s a few homeless people

Sheffield is great. There is old and new, industry and green space , multicultural, lots of languages spoken and lots of great nightlife. There is also a whole host of international restaurants to date any appetite for a specific cuisine.

Lovely location and close to other major UK cities. It is an easier transition into a city if you have lived in a small village or town growing up. Lots of green spaces and the peaks are at your doorstep. Nightlife provides something for everyone, from pop clubs to underground music venues. Sheffield is also home to an endless array of bars and pubs, also suited to all tastes. It is a student city that is very welcoming. There are so many independent businesses, that are thriving and working together that provide value for money goods and services.

Fun and friendly city, good nightlife to suit all tastes. Shopping in the city centre isn’t great but Meadowhall is only 20 minutes on the tram and has everything. The transport links are great for students and pretty cheap too. Loads to do as city is very close to the Peak District so lots of nice walking and climbing to do. Plus Sheffield is the greenest city in the UK! Lots of parks to chill out in.

So many places to eat/drink out, in the town centre and elsewhere. Regardless of your accommodation there will always be a supermarket within walking distance. Nights out are ridiculously cheap and eating out isn’t too bad either!

Local cheap grocery shops such as Aldi, Asda and Sainsbury's. Easy to get to by train, car, tram or bus. No need to pay for taxi's as everything is about a 10-minute walk away. Massive shopping centre about 5 minutes on a train for about £3.

The city itself is the perfect university experience, not too big and has everything you could possibly ask for

I've called Sheffield a 'micro-city' many times; it has everything you need, all in walking distance. There is an abundance of food, activities, nightlife and things to do in Sheffield. It is a perfect place to live, but if that's not possible you'd be crazy not to visit!

Sheffield is a great university city. It is well connected to the rest of the UK and there is plenty to do. There is a good variety of shops and places to eat as well as it being relatively cheap. It is also a good night out with a selection of different places to go. It has all the essentials a university student needs.

The night clubs are great, very good location and good value for money. Also a lot of restaurants and pubs are open until late. Which allows students to go out, relax or chill.

Sheffield nights out are great, there is a venue to suit everyone, however some bars can be expensive. The uber eats facility is a god send to students, and with Meadowhall close by, shopping is vast.

It's a great balance between a busy city life and a relaxing town chill! The best way to describe to Sheffield, the best of both worlds.

Really nice city the perfect size. Has a great town centre as well as Meadowhall for shopping. Perfectly placed just outside the peaks which is a short bus journey away. Nightlife is great and the uni student union is brilliant. Loads of pubs as well almost always very cheap and well spaced out around the city. Public transport is also very good with buses running all over and only £1 everywhere with student ID. Lots of green space within the city, perfect for getting drunk on hot days.

Brilliant selection of clubs and bars for nights out, university campus is in the centre of the city. The campus is surrounded by shops, markets and parks, making a perfect atmosphere. Shops for bargain shopping and expensive shopping, with lots of things to do in the city and the outskirts.

Perfectly located in the city, surrounded by bars, clubs and parks and only a short walk into the city centre where it’s possible to connect to many of the other great cities in the area

There’s always loads to. Plenty of different clubs to go to depending on what you like and many different places to eat in the city centre and at Meadowhall.

Sheffield is a nice city with a great university. the nights out at the university student union are exciting but not very varied. the town centre is run down and scruffy with limited shopping

Sheffield is great city with lots to do and a lot of activities directed at the students who live here. From the many pub crawls, bars and nightclubs to the sports facilities and Peak District a short drive or bus ride away. The locals are friendly and the city is very comfortable compact meaning you’re never too far away from anything. The shops in he city centre are good and there are loads more at Meadowhall which is easy and cheap to get to.
