Very safe city with lots to do for all ages. Very cheap compared to many other cities and fantastic shopping facilities a tram ride away.
The transit systems are amazing here and its really worth a trip to medowhall. You can find affordable food places and most things needed for University.
Sheffield is a nice city with good nightlife and plenty to do at both day and nighttime. There’s a strong sporting history in the city
Sheffield has certainly been an experience for the short time that I have lived here. The nights out to be fair are amazing because of the electric student nightlife but other than that I am disappointed with what Sheffield has (or has failed to) offered me since I’ve moved
Best place to be! Nights out are fantastic with a good range of clubs/bars for all people of all ages. Shopping can’t be argued with as you can get everything you need in the city centre or Meadowhall is just a tram stop away. Great range of eating places and can’t argue with the value for money
Sheffield is an all-round beautiful city filled with plenty of things to experience. It is a perfect mix of modern city and nature with many beautiful sights to experience such as the famous Botanical gardens that are beautiful to walk and picnic in. Endcliffe Park is also incredibly beautiful and situated on Ecclesall Road which has a great selection of fantastic bars and restaurants which go well with a trip into the city to experience the nightlife.
Brilliant night out and extremely cheap!! A very student friendly city, would definitely recommend coming to Sheffield for university the best decision i’ve ever made!
The location is fine; a little far from residential areas and could use some free transport service to get to/from campus. Otherwise, it's located well on the edge of city centre with lots of places to eat and drink nearby.
Love it, great night life, unique shops and coffee shops all over the city too, many gems to uncover. amazing food also! being from London it's also unbelievably cheap haha
Sheffield is definitely one of the best city’s for student life. Everything is within close proximity, the nightlife is 10/10 and the transport is very cheap.
Great night life and very casual, the city itself is very small which is great as you get the feel of a city without being somewhere which everything feels ages away. The outskirts of the city are also great as they are easily accessible though the cities public transport and have all the amenities.
Amazing best part of your life as it is an extremely thrilling experience for yourself you meet many great people whilst having the best nights out ever
Sheffield is great, it has great transport and social life. The people are very friendly. I enjoy living here whilst studying.
Sheffield is an excellent city, especially for students. There’s a large variety of places to go for food, especially smaller independent places like Tamper or Steam Yard. There is a range of different places to go out, but I do think the Sheffield SU has the best selection of nights to chose from.
In terms of nightout head down to Division Street, West street or Caver Street for a variety of bars and clubs. West street Live on West street is definitely a favourite, including cheap drinks and crap yet good music.
Nights out are not too pricey, everyone tends to go to the street west street when going out. Though not technically entertainment, Sheffield offers things like the botanical gardens and Peak District, which is a nice feature.
The city is perfect for students there is always so many food places and bars to visit. The only down fall is that there are a lack of day activities to do but overall I’m so glad I moved here
Sheffield is a great city for students everything is within walking distance and there is plenty of places to eat and shop. They are currently in the process of making the town centre even better and modern.
Honestly, as a city, this is one of the most vibrant and fast paced ones I know! Coming from a rather multicultural city and being in an ethnic minority, I was especially worried, however, Sheffield is extremely cultural and welcoming to all kinds of people. I especially love the large collection of vintage shops that makes shopping in a budget so easy! Meadowhall is also brilliant and close as well as cheap (only £1!) to get to on the bus. While the transport is sometimes off with is timing, it’s an overlook when it comes to all the other great things the city has to offer
Nights out good and fun especially corp wednesdays and pop tarts on Saturdays Meadowhall very good for shopping but as expected is expensive
The location is perfect as it is a mix of city and rural areas, with the Peak District just 6 miles from the city centre. Good transport links too.
The locations is great since it is very close to the city. There are a lot of places to go out and most are a walkable distance. The SU also has a lot of things to do, places to eat, and has a great cinema.
Great student city. Shops, restaurants, bars and clubs all within walking distance. Everything you could possibly want for a great uni experience
Cheap nights out, lots to do, friendly people, lovely places to go including parks, gardens and venues
