Good nightlife and shopping quarter but it can be rough in certain areas. People can't drive very well in this city in comparison to others

Sheffield is a student oriented city with many options with students to choose from. They are a variety of food stops and cafes along division street. Meadowhall is a convenient place to get a bit of retail therapy. The city centre is also a good place to find a variety of things such as food, retailers and also a source of recreation.

The are a wide variety of nights out to suit any taste, food wise there are loads of independent places and lots of options for vegans/vegitarians and of course, Sheffield is fairly cheap so as a student it's great!

Sheffield is shit for everything but nights out, to which you have plenty of choices to make as to which club you go to, indie dicks go to leadmill and the gays/latenighters go to either dempsys pop world or omg after corporation which is the best and always will be. Fuck tank its full of underage girls and chavs

Great nights out, fab atmmosphere and the peak district only a stones throw away means its easy to escape the busy city when you need to.

Everything is brilliant in sheffield, it's cheap, the nights out are brilliant and you're surrounded in beautiful countryside. The whole city is also really student friendly.

There’s always something to do in Sheffield- nights out are intense and there’s something for everyone. Want 90’s r&b? Paris of for you, The best club ever (in my opinion) with lots of celeb meet and greets? Code is best, or just want a night of jumping on tables singing with stiens of beer? Beirkeller is the one! West street is full of bars and clubs and lots of cheep drinks and good entertainment! There’s so many restaurants and little coffee shops, Steam Yard if a personal fave with insane cheese toasties! Eccy Road is a good place to get food with what seems like hundreds of restaurants everywhere! One of my fave things about Sheffield is how green it is, and that really makes a difference. In Manchester or Leeds it’s so grey sometimes and if you want a hangover walk you have to stick to road walking whereas in Sheffield there’s so many parks that a beautiful for picnics, runs, bike rides, dates or just walks. You’ve also got plenty of football to see if you fancy that with Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday! There are loads of shops in the high street but if that’s not overwhelming enough you have Meddowhall a tramride away! Sheffield is an incredible city, full of friendly people, great food and and great scenery! Couldn’t recommend more!!

Definitely great for student experience. The city itself is extremely industrial, and as such not particularly cosmetically brilliant. If you want to see old architecture and red brick everywhere, you're probably better off somewhere else. Having said that, there's loads of development happening at the moment, with lots of modern apartments and smaller cafes in renovated warehouses or factories. The huge advantage is that loving costs are very low in comparison to other places. There's a huge amount of places to go out, for any budget. I have friends in London and I pay half the rent they do and still have my own bathroom and a living room to boot.

The overall vibe in Sheffield has less of an up beat and friendly feeling in comparison to Manchester and Leeds, with shopping also being very limited in the stores they offer . Although the value for money and student discounts are available everywhere with also an outstanding range of takeaways and restaurants in the area.

Damn sheffield is great I mean wow I could have never imagined how great sheffield is. Also as much as I think sheffield is great I think free skin condoms is even greater!!

Good variety of nights out everyday. Close to the countryside. Good public transport. A bit small. Overall there is something to do for everyone as you could travel to further parts of the city easily and cheaply with trams/buses and experience stuff on the outskirts. The town centre is a bit small and the shop selection is alright, not great but the moor market is becoming a lot better.

Perfect size for going out, every restaraunt to suit your culinary taste and good value for money, although the hills are annoying

Good night out cheap drinks, not that many places to shop in town. But Meadowhall is great. It's good if you like the to be in a small city and there's lots of greenery around, especially at the peaks

Best city to study in, tons to do so you'll never get bored - something for everyone! Great pubs and clubs for the typical student night life with everything great value for money.

One word describes it all. Sheffield. Great people full of students. Sick nightlife couldn't be studying somewhere better.

Great city!!! Wouldn't change anything. Great mix of city life whilst still being close to the countryside in the peak district.

Night out 10/10, awesome variety something for anyone and all price ranges. Food is awesome, shoppings great, transport is pretty good and the city is neither too big nor too small. Great city for students

The night life is amazing with such variety and affordable venues. Food is also great as there’s many options, including fast foods and restaurants.

Decent food, shopping and night outs Small but cozy city with lots of opportunities for students. Buses and supertram makes it easy to get round the city. Good place to visit other places close by such as the peak district
