The city has a great university and gunwharf keys is an incredible part of the city. Apart from that there os very high unemployment rate and many scabby parts of the city

the food is nice as we now have five guys recently opened at gunwharf. the shopping in commercial road as wel as gunwharf however there is a limitation as there is need for more malls such as gunwharf so to have variety. we have dirty disco and I love the fact that we get student discounts. transport links are alright with the student bus also running until lightsout.

The atmosphere in Portsmouth is great. It's student city during term times making you feel at home with the constant interaction with people like yourself.Having the uni so close to the seafront is a great way to chill out. There are lots of places to eat, relax, shop, nights out, transport is very accessible, portsmouth is great value for money too! would recommend!

Great city with great people. Everything is within walking distance from the accommodation. Shops are on every street and the big supermarkets are only a small walk away. The courses are interesting and exciting, meaning one is never bored.

A great seaside town, with a fantastic skyview. Lots of places to go shopping, either in Gunwharf or in town. Lovely area in old portsmouth, and great spot at Southsea common, but can be some rough areas.

- there are good clubs that play a variety of music depending on the days you go, which is great as students often have different music tastes. Also if you go at the right time, drinks are relatively cheap/lots of places do happy hour every night which is great if you’re on a budget - there are plenty of shopping places (Gunwharf/Cascades/Southsea shopping centre) which vary in expense so you can go to different places depending on your budget. They are within good distance of the university and student accommodation. - the city lacks other activites that a group could take part in e.g escape room/paintballing/zoos etc. It would be nice to be able to take part in other activities that didn’t involve a night club or shopping. - there isn’t many places you can go to where you can’t spend money. Everywhere you go, you have spend money and that is hard for a student who has to be tight with money - there are lots of places to eat/lots of take always etc. A really helpful thing is ubereats as when we are busy studying etc. And you fancy some food that you couldn’t get off of a usual take away website: their delivery service is amazing and saves so much time. It needs to be available in more areas - trains are a massive problem as they are either cancelled or delayed. Which has often made me late or has made me miss things. I do tend to use coaches to get back to my hometown and having ‘the hard interchange’ is great and you can get many coaches from there. - the university bus is okay but it would be preferable to have it go to more roads and more places. As often it only sticks to more route

Portsmouth University's campus is the city. All accommodation and uni buildings are surrounded by grocery shops and is far away from a high street full of shops or the popular shopping area "Gunwharf quays". It's based along the south coast with beautiful views and hovercrafts/ferries to and from the Isle of White. In addition to this there is a wide variety of choice for nights out as there are 5 main clubs near the centre of the university sites and accommodation. It's a safe place as areas are well lit.

The University is actually pretty good so this review is probably a bit unfair, but Portsmouth is a horrible place. I had 2 bikes stolen in a year whilst fully and securely locked up, the lead on my flat's roof was stolen causing it to rain inside my flat (which was frequently surrounded by blood filled needles), and I've been chased by a homeless man with a fishing rod. Yeah. If you're into Pryzm and that sort of thing you might enjoy the night life but that's certainly not for me either, nothing really in the way of decent gigs or events either. Be kind to yourself and go somewhere else.

Portsmouth, home of the Royal Navy, and home to some very decent nights out. Going out, the anxiety of being mugged or stabbed on the streets is minimal, and you feel as if help (if needed) is only a few seconds away.

Portsmouth is a great historic city well known for its navy base and football club. There is a vast amount of things to do varying from shopping to riding the rollercoaster on the seafront. There is a large outlet shopping centre in Gunwharf Quays that contains a lot of shops and restaurants.

There are plenty of places to eat that aren't expensive. There are also plenty of places to go; if it's a nice day the beach is a short walk away from everyone and gunwharf is a great place to sail from or just to watch the sun set from. Definitely a beautiful city to be in however accommodation can sometimes be expensive due to location and demand.

Night outs is good, fairly cheap city to live in to be honest. Halls are nice, easy to make new friends especially in freshers week. And many good shopping centres including commercial road and gunwharf quays.

Portsmouth is a great location for university. Literally everything is within a half hour walk if you choose to live in the student populated areas, most taxi journeys only cost £3 and you can have a great student night out for less than £10. Although the main student nights do get repetitive, portsmouth has a good amount of local pubs that sells quality drafts and the locals are mostly welcoming. Gunwharf and commercial road are the popular options for shopping although Portsmouth has a great deal of other shops not in those two locations especially charity shops where you can find some great pieces. Albert road is a popular option for pubs, restaurants and a good time. The best thing about Portsmouth is Portsmouth in the summer, nothing beats a chilled BBQ on the common with your mates.

The university of Portsmouth is situated in the heart of Portsmouth, next to the local shopping center and the retail outlet gunwharf quays. While it is close to clubs and bars, the only real problem is the large amounts of homeless gang surround the area.

Great location on the seafront! Easy access to all areas of Portsmouth. Good train links and access via the motorway.

Night life really good. The shopping facilities are very good. Plenty of shops. Gunwharf has lots of decent resutarants and lesuire activities.Portsmouth is also great for its historical buildings And museums. The historic dockyard is particularly impressive. Having the beach on our doorstep is also great particularly in the Summer.

Not many things to do. There are some nice views and shopping places however all close early. Would be better if there were a few 24/7 shops and more places that closed much later.
