I chose Brighton Uni more for the city than the uni (thankfully, since the uni kinda sucks) but have not been disappointed with the location at all. Felt like home from day 1, such a buzzing atmosphere, it's brilliant to have the beach, countryside and city life all within such close quarters!

The nights out in Brighton is amazing. We have a lot of night clubs around the centre city and each of them has their own style. There is loads of food in the city. I’ve tried Greek food, Korean food, Chinese food, Vietnamese food so far and they are awesome. I mainly go shopping around Churchill square because u can find anything u need. I’m looking forward to summer and enjoy the time with the beach.

The city is fantastic for students and is becoming even more friendly each year. The nightlife is diverse so appeals to everyone and the character of the city is interesting.

Brighton is a wonderful city to be young in. The level of diversity and inclusivity that is offered by the people who live here, cannot be matched anywhere else in the UK, and I'm not only referring to the LGBTQ community. You don't think you can sing very well but want to try an open mic night? People will cheer you on regardless of your level of talent. You want to take up a hobbie you've never tried before? Someone will offer to help get you started. You want to sit on the sidelines and just watch everyone thrive in their creativity? There'll be others sitting with you, happy to share your quiet, and you'll be sincerely thanked for coming to observe by the creatives. The pebbles can be a turn off but they stop you from ending up covered in sand every time you go to the beach. The wind can be harsh but with the most pubs per capita of any UK city, you'll be easily sheltered. The centre of town might seem rather repetitive from an outsiders perspective but once you find your flow in the city, it can be as repetitive as you like. The beach is wonderful. The people are wonderful. Brighton is wonderful. Visit and you'll see that for yourself.

Amazing city with so much to do and see and not far to travel to town centre from uni. Loads of great nights out with a big variety for different people. All the shops you could need and loads of cool cafes/restaurants (including many independent and vegan).

Brighton is the perfect city. There is a great mix of of art, culture and eccentricity. Lots of music venues, bars, pubs. Amazing food. Great community and local culture across the city. Well accommodated to students as Brighton is not the only university.

Brighton is the perfect student city. As it is not too big it means you bump into alot of people from your course on nights out and around town. The lanes offer a cute day out full of coffee shops and vintage stalls for you to 'brighton up' your outfit, but most of all brighton is best known for its beach. It offers an escape from city life.

Even though my university is the ‘University of Brighton’ my campus is in Eastbourne. Eastbourne campus is a ‘sport and service management’ campus, and since I am doing journalism I did not think this was suitable. I chose the University of Brighton particularly for the location and I now find myself extremely far away from Brighton itself which is very frustrating.

Great location, within walking, driving and bus route distance. Close to the town centre and beach, meaning you have everything right there! Fun for all ages, clubs, pubs, tours, cinemas, literally everything!

I love living in Brighton: from meeting a wide array of people, chilling on the beach (despite the pebbles, which you get used to) and walking behind the uni to the Downs. There's a lot for students to do, depending on your interests.

Brighton is in the south so let's start by saying you're gonna get the warmest weather so that's a major plus! Also the beach is a great hangout spot for stressful moments during exams ! In terms of night life you'll always have a good time cause there are many clubbing or punning options sending on what you're feeling. Both unis are close to town so it's simple to get there and the buses are always coming so transport is convenient. Although Brighton is kinda expensive it's manageable and is worth it considering the stuff you can do!!

Brighton is great ! The night life is always fun whether you go to the same club everytime or you hop into one of the many hundreds around the city. During the day the city is just as exciting with the lanes offering traditional setting and many vegan cuisines to try! Although Brighton is kinda expensive like literally comparable to London.. as a student you can make it work and it is so worth it/ plus both the Unis are 30 minutes from the city Centre so you're never too far from anything

I love living in Brighton it's so diverse and different and accepting. I love yes there are problems like the proosturious expense of student living, and agency's will take advantage, and and night out aren't cheap if you don't know where to go. Like most cities there is an underlying drug problem, with many people I know, the majority have taken something of class A and Byron whilst experiencing the 'culture'. But the overall atmosphere of the city is a bubble of vibrancy and fun. there's lots to do it night and day, but you just need to go out and explore. You can plenty of good food dives. I would say Brighton isn't for everyone. I if you have strong right wing opinions and are not opposed to change, you don't come. You can if you are easily seated and peer pressured and fall into the wrong crowd, you can maybe study somewhere else. You can but for those adventures and level headed minds who won't be sucked into the not so nice side the city, and you will absolutely love it. Obviously this is an option piece, but but I've tried to be as honest as I can. And of course, so the sea side is beautiful and and a massive bonus.

Brighton is a fantastic city, especially if you are coming here as a student. There are over 600 pubs and bars so you’ll never be left without somewhere to go for a drink or grab a roast on a Sunday. You’re also only minutes away from the beach where you can bbq to your hearts content in the summer, enjoy food and drink on the promenade and if you hang around long enough you’ll be sure to catch the nightlife too. Brighton’s nightlife has a little something for everyone, whether you like indie, rock, house, trap, pop or metal - brighton will have a club night to your taste. The best nights out in Brighton has to be the gay bars and clubs near Kemp town - great 90s and noughties classics, cheap drinks, loads of colour, and you’ll never have a dull evening. If you’re not a clubber, brighton has some of the best food in the UK. Head to the Laines to explore cafe after cafe of delicious food - veggie? No problem. Vegan? No worries. Gluten free? There are bakeries who produce the best GF bread just for you. Alongside the independent cafes and bars, brighton has all the high street stuff you may miss from your local town - Pizza Express, Wagas, Starbucks... and a full blown shopping centre filled with high street brands. If you’re looking to be money-savvy at uni, brighton may not be the one for you. Although it’s possible to only survive on pasta (i’ve tried!) - brighton is one of the priciest cities in the UK. You’re probably looking close to London prices for a lot of luxuries, but within the London wages. Make sure you find cheap eats if you’re going to want brunch every other weekend, and make the most of student discounts. Aldi on London road is also a life saver and can provide you with a weeks shopping (including booze) for about £20! Overall, brighton is a wonderful place to come to uni. It is a positive, free thinking city filled with the weird and the wonderful - your friends WILL come and visit you, the nightlife is great and there aren’t many places in the UK where you can watch drag shows by the pier!

Hilly but don't let that put you off. There's so much to see and do here and even if you so get bored, then there's always the beach. We've just been voted the number one city for hipsters too; what's not to love?

First of all, Brighton is a wonderful place to live; especially for students. Nightlife offers a wide range of options for all ages and interests, and there is always a nice place to explore and try out. When it comes to food, there is also a wide range. From vegan places to the cheapest food after a long night out; theres always options whatever your price range, but it’s definitely easier to find places to drink rather to eat. Depending on whereabouts you are in Brighton, depends on what time of shops you’ll find. From highstreets brands to back alley smaller ‘edgy’ shops. From going down the seaside to visiting the marina, there is always options for families, couples or students. Value for money depends on where you go. Living here, it can be expensive, visiting can be expensive, it just depends what youre looking for and how much youre willing to spend. Being such a tourist driven city that relies on its students means that they can charge a little more or some things while other sections are great balue for money. Brighton is known for it’s free spirited people and a range of people with all different interests. People don’t follow the group and Brighton caters to that.

Good range of clubs to go to all with different atmosphere. There’s loads of places to eat at the marina, the laines and in town in general. There is certainly a lot of things to do in the summer, and the beach and pier is always a nice day out! In the summer there is always something going on such as festivals like pride or colour run!

Location is amazing, so close to London and major airports, shopping is amazing, has most popular shops! And many independent shops. Food is great, has many nice independent food places.

Brighton is an amazing place to live never never short of things to do literally drinking establishments open near enough 24hours depending on what you are into. The only disappointment was that quite afew people do not get halls in their first year and are forced to find a house of strangers to share with, if you are lucky (most people are) they end up becoming your best friends. Location wise it is so great, easy transport links and can walk or cycle nearly everywhere neighbouring towns are a short train away. I love it in the summer feels like you are on holiday. I’m finishing up uni now being in my last year and have seriously considering moving down here well I plan to in be future once I’ve saved up some dollar bills because that is the only major down fall..... it’s expensive think Baby London

Brighton has loads of different options for nights out. From shoosh to Volks, Brighton is your oyster between 11-4am. Sooooo much food choice too. Can never decide what i want for lunch because so much option and great value places to eat. Craters very well to all type of eaters. Shopping is good. Many good shops. Many variety. When I am in Brighton I spend alot of time at the beach and taking it the scenetic side to Brighton. It’s my favourite part.

Brighton is such a lovely place to live. There’s a bar or pub on every street corner and a number of funky clothes shops. It’s even more fun in the summer when you can chill down on the beach with your friends. The only problem is the prices of everything is the same as in London but we don’t get the London rate of student finance.
