Despite the city being rather far up north, it is only two hours away from the Cairngorm National Park, which has some very beautiful scenery. The city itself is located right in the coast and has a nice beach boulevard and a small ‘fishers town’ located near the boulevard. Eating out is not cheap for students, do if you do ha e a few extra pounds to spend, many of the restaurants are definitely worth it. It has a lot of different pubs, though the club selection is rather limited.

Lovely place to live. Nice beach and great countryside. Transport is a bit of a pain, traffic can get quite congested. Nice bars, some okay clubs. Plenty food choices and Union Square is okay for shopping.

Although Aberdeen is far from the rest of the UK, it is still a great city. The beach's very close to the University and is lovely, the city centre is close to the University and there are many shops and restaurants there. Night life is good during term time and then there are also so many beautiful places to visit in the surrounding Aberdeenshire like visiting castles and going on stunning walks.

Nights out aren’t too exiting, not many decent night clubs about. Some good bars but most are quite expensive. Not many central food shops, and only one or two 24hr shops central otherwise it’s just Asda and Tesco further out. Shopping isn’t great, wouldn’t recommend, but there’s plenty of restaurants.

A quiet and beautiful city, yet very grey. If you came here for studies it’s great - the campus of the Aberdeen uni is very beautiful and easy to navigate. The downside of the town is the weather, if you are a fan of the sun then you are going to miss it.

RGU is a great uni, feel really welcome there. Accommodation is a bit of a distance from nightlife but it’s not too bad. Student night outs are great!

Aberdeen is a good city for students it’s small but not too small. Has an interesting nightlife, good shopping centres, plenty of choices for activities. Aberdeen Uni is okay it can be a bit stuck up at times and impersonal and doesn’t offer the same supportive methods as other universities. The quality of teaching is hit and miss as the quality of resources. The main Campus is really attractive and the halls on the offer are pretty good and have been modernised to an extent

Food is really boring, not much to eat besides fish and chips, deep fried stuff and Irn Bru. Two big shopping complexes around - definitely good for a weekend's shopping trip, but maybe a bit pricey.

The university’s location is ideal for students to reach nearby shops, the university library and is a short commute to the town centre. Transport provides efficient travel to student accommodation and surrounding areas, making it a suitable central location to access many parts of the city easily. The beach is a short 15-20 minute walk away, especially useful for a study break away from the library.

Heartwarming city to live in for only a semester. Everyone is welcoming and it is a sight to see. It is not big but this town has big character. It host beautiful beaches and landscapes. There are always student events and discounts. There is always something to do and the food is fresh!

Not only is the facilities excellent with access to archives among other things; it also have a great student community with numerous societies for majority of extra curricular interests. Aberdeen doesn't just have a great uni but it's also such a lovely place to spend your time; whether it's strolling past the beautiful, old buildings to get to class on campus or finishing the day off at the beach with some ice-cream. Aberdeen also offers some fab shopping for some retail therapy as well as loads of options for eating out!

Transportation is expensive in Aberdeen and also there is not a direct bus to the Aberdeen university from Westhill so this adds time and money to your journey. Union square is perfect for getting dinner and a movie. There are plenty shops in the city centre and most places do offer good value for money.

Aberdeen University is in an excellent location. The university is within the city centre, but not so much that it is distracting. It is within a 15 minute walk to the beach, and about 15 minutes right to the main shopping street. The library is right on campus, and there is a free bus that takes you from student halls to campus.

Lots of things to do, never short of shops in Aberdeen due to the three shopping centres! Loads of restaraunts to choose from and good value for your money in the centre, not so much in terms of living, expensive rent! Night life is always good and plenty of nightclubs to choose from

Good but small city with mostly students. Hard to get to from Belfast with limited flight options, only flight company between the two locations is flybe, with only one flight a day. Makes it expensive to travel to and form home. Also accommodation is extortionate it is between 450 and 500 pounds a month for a room in an hmo flat near the uni. Which is more than majority of people student loans.

I love doing and going to music concert Great city! Big shopping centre where you can find everything you need, lots of student-friendly places to eat and, of course, brilliant nights oit and somewhere that the weather is great

Amazing location! The uni is located about a 30min walk from the city centre, which has a good variety of shops, restaurants and clubs, and about a 15min walk from the beach. This is great for relaxing and provides amazing views from the library out onto the North Sea.

Great shopping centres and places to eat, however everything it centred in one area away from the university. There are limited things to do, with a lack of museums or free activities. The nightlife could also be improved; there is a whole host of bars, but a lack of proper clubs. Personally, I chose this university because it was closer to home than my other choices (as I have young siblings) and the course was leagues above the others. Unfortunately, it is one of the more expensive cities, so going out is expensive, but on the other hand, rents have drastically decreased, making it slightly more affordable in other aspects. I also like how the university campus is all in one place, and a pretty campus too.

I actually like the city a lot. It's big enough to host a variety of entertainment, there are many shops and a lot of sightseeing. I'm not interested in nightlife so I wouldn't have cared if there was not even a single club. I think Aberdeen is a nice city to live in, a bit in the north, however and not the most major in Scotland.

As a whole I enjoy Aberdeen a lot. The fact that there are numerous shopping centres; St Nicholas, Union Square, Bon Accord, means there is plenty to do. The nightlife is very good in Aberdeen and there are clubs of all genres meaning there's a night out for everyone. The amount of food places open til early hours means that you will have lots of choice on your post-night out food. Union Square has an extremely large amount of places to eat out but Aberdeen also has loads of more independent food places and the ones I've tried have been great.
