University of Aberdeen

From what I can tell the university seems to be vastly different over disciplines. Some schools such as law seem to be very to the book in reality but the online learning tools are a mess. In comparison medical sciences are more well suited to the online environment and are more student friendly

Great university, friendly and helpful staff and beautiful architecture. I’ve thoroughly enjoying my time so far at the university, food is great and so is the teaching

Love the campus, very scenic with old buildings. Also like the fact that the buildings all all close together on campus and not spread out throughout the city. I study zoology and it’s extremely interesting, I’m glad I chose it. Don’t really have too much experience with the student union to be honest.

it's very indulgent. Everyone is a liberal. Yet there is always a political debate going. All your opinions will be taken into consideration but not acted upon. No one will hurt your feelings, directly. The teachers are good and exams are not hard.

The University is a very good and highly achieving university, with many diverse clubs amd students in affiliation. The hub could of course be given a little nore funding to handle the massive volume of students over the lunchtime rsther than massively stress out the lunch staff, but overall a very good university.

There is no student Union, there’s no campus bar and the uni does extremely little to nothing to organise events or anything to help you meet people when you arrive. The facilities are good however there’s no university sport facilities, it’s shared and because of this the football pitches are booked out throughout the week by Aberdeen FC. The courses are ok however some of the compulsory courses are awful and most lecturers don’t record their lectures which I think is an abomination.

Campus is beautiful, staff is nice. Student union is largely thought to be poor. Food and drink at canteen is expensive. Physics department is small, but the large majority of staff within are very approachable and deliver a high quality of teaching. Library is really good, but sadly not 24h opening for majority of the time.

The University of Aberdeen is a really lovely city campus, the buildings and streets are really beautiful and all amenities are within a short distance from each other, although some of the lecture halls are a little outdated. Sports facilities are great, Aberdeen Sports Village is probably one of the best sports facilities in Scotland, and there are a wide selection of sports clubs and societies to choose from. The union is a nice place to chill out, although we are one of the only universities in the UK without a union bar, but there are plenty of great bars and clubs in Aberdeen which are popular with students.

Campus looks great and easy to navigate once gotten to know. Many places to just sit and chill between classes and plenty of places to get food. Course is really interesting. The student union could do with some more tables, some with less chairs so instead of 6 spaces more tables for 2 or 4

Expensive city, but excellent university facilities with a top 10 Law School! Beautiful library and great access to public transport.

We have a pretty brilliant student union, they organise some great activities and nights out, as well as serious stuff, like careers fairs, that are actually really helpful. The campus might not be the most beautiful, but the facilities are very good. The library is huge with loads of seating (this is a big deal!) and the gym is really good

The library is wonderful, it has all the books that are required in my course. The lecturers are attentive and are willing to clarify any topics that we might not have understood during the lecture

The University has everything you would be looking for. Great sprit, beautiful university, only thing maybe missing is a university nightclub and bar.

Campus is beautiful but some outdated buildings The course gets better through the years but very demanding and the teaching needs to be improved as a lot of them are unfair

Great university with good support from staff and good facilities such as the library . The course is incredibly well organised with fantastic teaching from all members of staff

The university is absolutely stunning. The staff are all very professional and available to help mostly with very instant replies. The course I am doing is particularly well run. The careers services are second to none and the nicest people you may ever meet. The student Union is somewhat disappointing in comparison to the likes of other universities in Scotland. The entry requirements are somewhat higher than other universities but worthwhile hitting them for the support you can achieve. The sports options are amazing too.

Aberdeen uni is good. Typically backwards and money grabbing like any other university. Mass disruption to students learning during strikes which should have been quickly negotiated and understood by the uni. Don’t have a student union

Well, the university is generally quite good. I find the facilities to be acceptable and for the most part the staff to be effective and enthusiastic. Not all of them but oh can’t expect all staff to be great I suppose. There are also some admin issues which grate upon me and my fellow students somewhat and some technical issues regarding internet access and access to university sites at crucial times. However I am largely pleased with the service offered by Aberdeen uni and the campus itself is great.

Campus is so huge that it takes ages to cross from one end to an other.it was made in 1495 by William elphinstone who was the bishop of Aberdeen

Good, but the medical campus needs more variation in cafes and food and needs more veggie and vegan options.

Great support available for students. However, lectures and student consideration should be improved. One of my professors chooses not to put power points online which I think is unacceptable.

Overall the campus is really nice and fairly small. I really like the library however there could be more seats in it as often no empty seats can be found. The university is very helpful when you contact them.
