The social experience is outstanding, I have made friends with a lot of my neighbours and I get on very well with everyone else. It is a very unique experience that I have never experienced before, something definitely worth doing if a teenager. The facilities are pretty good, the common room has a PS4 which could be lended out and I played games with some friends a few times, very good way to relax and socialise that doesn't involve drinking. However my room is something I wasn't completely happy with, everything is descent apparatus from one deal-breaker for myself - faulty heating. At one point the room was being heated to the extent I couldn't sleep, with all the radiators turned off they still have off a lot of heat, and the exposed pipes contributed to the problem. The very nice and polite service team attempted to deal with the problem, but they took a few days to get there. Unfortunately the solution didn't suit my need either, as the heating was turned completely off and it was very cold in the whole flat for a few days. Otherwise than that, the room and the flat is descent, kitchen door was coming off its hinges, the kitchen sink wasn't working for a week and the carpets are a bit... Old and used I guess would be the way to describe them (after all Orchard Newitt is the one of the oldest accomodations in Southampton apparently, and it even used to be a military site). Overall, quite a mixed cocktail of experiences, mostly good with some major issues here and there.
