The city of Leicester is a student-budget friendly city. The city hosts exquisite independent coffee shops and restaurants offering free WiFi across the city centre. In addition, Halls of Residence are of a great standard at very affordable prices. One of the most popular include Code Student Accommodation where a luxury studio flat costs £99 per week upwards. One of the best places to visit for halal food.. whether it is the £5 box or a top class sit down meal. Leicester has it all in this compact city.

Leicester is a very vibrant city with two great universities. There are a number of events and opportunities to get involved with when a student. Value for money is brilliant for living costs and essentials. Nights out and alcohol is also great value for money and there is brilliant choices for bars and nightclubs. There are many transport links to London and nearby cities via coach or train.

The town is super close to campus and also from almost all uni accommodations which is convenient. There are a few places to shop around and plenty of eating places whether it be breakfast, lunch or dinner as well as loads of bars and pubs.

Leicester city is very diverse, so u already know they have varieties starting form the resturant, to food, groceries, clothes shopping and so on. There are really cheap good restaurants and also expensive ones too, it really just depends on what you want.

Brilliant nights out and a friendly vibe between students and locals. Plenty of places to shop and eat out that allow you to enjoy the city with any budget. So many different nights out to choose from so everyone will be happy no matter what their favourite music genre is.

For a city this small, they certainly pack a lot in, including both the University of Leicester and De Montfort University. The city is a historic meeting place and Leicester is home to a wide variety of races and cultures making for a unique university experience

There food shopping is great, there are a huge Tesco store close by town. A lot of accommodations in town, therefore it is convenient. I think they're still building more accommodations now.

The city centre has improved in the years I've been there for uni and it only looks like it will be changing for the better!

The city center itself is very pretty, and there is a large range of cuisines to chose from both chain restraints and less well known ones. There is a large range of shops to chose from, all very close to eachother, this includes charity shops and high street shops, nerdy and even spiritual shops should they take your fancy.and there is something to do for everyone, with board game cafes and escape rooms all near by each other . Leicester is definitely one to visit!

Great cocktail bars and music venues. The comedy festival is a must do, where almost every bar and venue in Leicester open up for comedy events. The Donkey, The Cookie, Firebug and De Montfort Hall are excellent venues for music. Crustys and any restaurant in St Martin's Square is worth a visit.

Great town for students. Good social destinations. Cheap nightclubs. Big shopping centre. Buses too expensive/unreliable. Not enough opportunities post-graduation.

Great nights out in places like Republic, Mosh, Arkade, Blueprint and Waikiki. Good pre-drink spots like Mamba, Locker Rooms and obviously loads of Spoons to choose from!! Great restaurant selection in town centre and London Road, Highcross is great, full of loads of big names!

Not one of the biggest cities but it has a decent sized and newly refurb shopping centre as well as the old part of town with more vintage shops as well as cocktail, gin and champagne bars. The night life is pretty standard lots of different venues and genres to choose from and on different days of the week. There is a lot of food and pub choice ranging in prices as well so is a good day out and i havnt got bored of living here.

Leicester is and alright place, if you want to do some shopping. Nightlife isn't exactly great but that's subject to opinion. Plenty of places to go out for food, from McDonald's to restaurants like Pho and Nando's. Value for money isn't bad - there's a great deal to chose from in terms of places to eat out and clothing/shopping stores.

Leicester has really exploded in the last 3 or 4 years with a huge array of independent esteires, bars and cafes. The Highcross shopping centre has a wide selection of flagship and big name stores, and a great variety of restaurants. St Martin's Square is a completely unique complex of independent bars, restaurants and independent stores. Would highly recommend St Martin's Cafe, Bottle Garden bar and a visit to the new mini golf Caddy Shackers. Anyone interested in music should take a visit to the iconic Shed on Yeoman lane for a class set list of local and up and coming artists as well as magicians, quizzes and fun for all.

Living in the city of leicester ( what we called leii) was intresting. It's a complete different vibe to london for sure. The shops were basically the same. Just that they didnt have much corner shops open all night. Night life was intresting because its a combination of the leicester locals and students. In terms of food I wish they had a variety of different restaurants but its all worth your money. There wasnt much activities to do well the only thing i did was bowling, flip out and cinema all the time. Everything was usually far away
