There are five people within each flat who share a bathroom and a small kitchen. The bathroom isn't anything fancy but I haven't heard of anyone having a problem with any of it like the hot water not working etc. Your actual room is small but cosy with a single bed, desk and a lamp. The halls in general are very social which is a big positive for the accommodation as I've heard quite the contrary from people in other accommodations. The location is a fair walk form the uni, about 40minutes. However is a bus stop just down the road and buses heading to few uni come very regularly. The bus fair for a student is just £1.

Very cheap rent and nice location in Headingly but small rooms, lack of social spaces and it takes a while to walk to the main campus

Good location with £1 bus routes. Rooms are decent and overall a good place to live in your first year.

Lipton is not glamorous but it has everything you need. The rooms are the perfect size if you don't mind a single bed. You get a lot of desk space, sizeable wardrobe and cork board. The kitchen is adequate, a little small and not very cosy for chilling in but fine nonetheless for cooking and flat pre's. Cool, down to earth people are almost guaranteed being as cheap as it is.

When I first received the email telling me I received Lupton Residences, I was not totally impressed with the architecture and overall facilities. However, this attitude changed when I moved into the residence and made an amazing network of friends.

Lupton residences are very affordable which is a plus! I personally liked my room, but for those used to having a big room at home it might be a shock... As an introverted person not particularly into boozing on a frequent basis, I found the outgoing atmosphere in my block overwhelming. However, if you are very social and keen to go on nights out I recommend Lupton! It’s a little far from uni, but still within walking distance (just!) and the buses are frequent.

So social and great grounds! Best year ever! So much better than a tower block because everyone in each block here gets to know each other!

Outdoor spaces are fab with barbecue pits and everything. Main office looks cute as well. The flats are a bit small and a bit outdated but for the price it's decent (cheapest one at uni of Leeds)

Lupton is by far the most social accomodation. It has basic facilities and is not as nice as others but you get used to that and it's really not an issue sharing a bathroom. The social life is amazing, everyone is so lively and friendly and Headingly is such a nice place to live in with lots of shops, bars and pubs. The 25minute walk to uni isn't a problem at all and the bus only takes 10 minutes. Lupton was not my chosen accomodation but i'm so happy I ended up here because i'm saving so much money and the social aspect really makes up for the basic facilities here. Also i have friends in nicer accomodation who hate it because it's not sociable so Lupton is the best for socialising and meeting new people as everyone seems to be down to earth.

Rooms were alright, kitchen was shit, needs more bathrooms and is too far from uni but it is very sociable.

Shit flat, shit kitchen, and miles from the uni. However v cheap, and close to a sainsburies. Room size is decent, and blocks are quite social, but I'm looking to move out. Also has no social space

The location although not on uni campus, is in a good location situated in Headingley which has lots of shops and bars making it a lively area. It is a shared bathroom between 5 and the kitchen was quite small, however, it's quite sociable despite there being no common room due to there being separate blocks with just three floors in each. My room was the smallest out of the 5 people in my flat, but was quite cosy and meant it warmed up quickly.

It may look like a shithole, and it is. But those yellow walls and that single bed carry a lot of charm. Lupton was an absolute half and a half 10/10 would reccomend.

The cheapest for a reason, no common room, shared bathroom and small kitchen. However very sociable and I love all my neighbors so atleast there’s that. Good location also

While it's of the smaller halls and it's off campus, Lupton has a very nice vibe and a close-knit community, plus I could never afford Central Village prices lol

The main reason anyone applies to Lupton is the price. As far as I'm aware it's the cheapest accomodation for first years run by the uni. And to be honest, every aspect of lupton reflects this. The distance from uni is pretty inconvenient, around a half hour walk, a bit less if you're in a rush. There's one bathroom between five which gets inconvenient at times to say the least. The rooms aren't tiny but they aren't particularly big either. My biggest problem, though, is the kitchen. It's really small, too small to have all five cooking/eating at once. This means it can be pretty hard to bind properly with the rest of your flat. That said everyone has more money so they're always up for a night out, and having about 600 people means there's always something going on near you.
