Pride Month is approaching. Make sure you look the part with these creative Pride outfit ideas.

As you may know, June is Pride Month. Pride is a time where we celebrate the visibility of our LGBTQ+ community, the progress we have made in recent years when it comes to recognising them, and highlight the work that still needs to be done.

Restrictions coming to an end mean that we should hopefully be able to celebrate the occasion in person this year. With festivities coinciding with sunny June and festival season, deciding on what to wear can be tricky. Here are our top tips for picking a Pride outfit this year:

1. Express yourself

Pride is a place where you can be yourself without fear of judgement. So, be open and wear whatever you want! Crack out the colourful outfit you were too scared to wear before and paint the town red. At Pride, you can be yourself, and nobody will bat an eyelid. It is a place where people want you to feel welcome and free.

2. Show your support

The Pride parade is all about spreading love, support and unity. You can communicate your support for the LGBTQ+ community with your outfit. If you need inspiration, check out the Pride-themed collections online or in-stores. Charity shops are a great place to look for affordable, Pride-themed hidden gems.

Look for colourful clothing with Pride slogans on them. If you’re feeling creative, you can even embroider your own! As well as showing your support, a message on your shirt could inspire others to share their own. Use your voice to be a part of making the world a better place!

3. Add some accessories

You can further enhance your Pride outfit by decorating yourself with colourful accessories. If you like jewellery, adorn yourself with colourful earrings, necklaces, or bracelets. Get your headgear in order with a rainbow-themed bandana or hat, and put on the most colourful socks you can find.

Finish your look with some balloons, and be sure to bring a rainbow flag; it’s an essential part of every Pride outfit!

4. Be creative

The Pride parade is a colourful and beautiful event. Thinking outside the box is the best way to make your outfit unique. You could pick up some cheap clothes and decorate them using glitter, badges, or dye. You can transform boring clothes into something wonderful with a bit of know-how!

Match your clothes with some rainbow-themed body art, and you’re good to go.

Pride celebrations are always memorable, so it’s important to make sure you look the part. Glitter up, add a bit of colour to your wardrobe, and paint the town red!
