Happy Valentine's Day from Student Hut! We asked you some questions about the romantic holiday and here are your answers.

In celebration of Valentine’s Day, we put together a quick survey, via our Student Hut opinion panel, about all things love and romance. 💕

Here’s what over 200 of you told us:

Almost half of the students we surveyed said they were currently in a relationship, with 8 in 10 saying they celebrate Valentine’s Day.

Love is in the air! Almost 80% of those in relationships celebrate Valentine’s Day, with the vast majority of these couples buying gifts for their partners.

When it comes to secret admirers, students are more likely to have received an anonymous gift, letter, or card on Valentine’s Day than to have sent one themselves.

4 in 10 students told us they have received an anonymous Valentine’s gift, letter, or card whilst only 2 in 10 have sent one.

Around 40% of current university students use dating apps, or have used them in the past.

Of those that do or have used dating apps, Tinder is by far the most popular. Over 70% say they’ve used this app. This is followed by Bumble, with 35%, and then Hinge, which 27% of students use.

Dating shows are popular with students. Over 70% of students have watched or currently watch dating shows, with the most popular being First Dates.

Following First Dates, the next most popular dating shows are Naked Attraction, Love Island, Love is Blind, and Celebs Go Dating.

And finally, a third of current university students told us their universities will be putting on Valentine’s Day-themed events. Make sure to check to see if your university is putting on an event!

Whether it’s a blind date, a club night, speed dating, a romantic movie night, or a standard night in with your mates, there are plenty of ways to enjoy Valentine’s Day as a student. Make sure you check out our five ideas for Valentine’s Day on a budget.
