Make up for lost time and enjoy the festive season with your friends with these fun activity ideas.

Grab your hot chocolates and call up your best friends. Seeing as last Christmas was one big Zoom meeting, it’s time to go all out with the festive spirit this year. With that in mind, here are a few ways to celebrate the Christmas holidays with your friends this year whilst still keeping in line with the government’s restrictions:

Ice skating

Ice skating is a wonderful way to celebrate the holidays with your friends. Whether you’re as graceful as a swan or, like most of us, a clumsy skater, it's a fun festive activity to try. Just make sure to layer up so you don’t turn into a living snowman!

Christmas Dinner

You could host a pre-Christmas dinner with your friends. Get some Christmas crackers and make everyone a dish of their choice. If you want to bring some extra fun and creativity to your Christmas dinner, you could all work together to make a festive-themed meal. Pigs in blankets, anyone?

Movie Night

Bring the festive snacks and blankets and snuggle down with your friends to some classic Christmas movie. Whether that means watching The Grinch or Die Hard (prepare for some judgment on this one), it’s a cosy, fun way to spend an evening with your friends this winter.

Christmas markets

Enjoy lots of Christmas food, drinks and rides with all your friends at your local Christmas market. They only come around once a year, so enjoy it while it lasts!

Secret Santa

Secret Santa is always a great way to get your friends involved in some Christmas fun and games. Set a theme and price limit and let the fun begin as you scavenge for the Christmas present that’ll get the most laughs. Remember; the weirder, the better!

Gingerbread house

Find out who the best Christmas architect is by seeing which of your friends can build the best gingerbread house. Set a time limit and make sure the best house wins.
