Indulging
1. Crepes
Ahh, yes, the obvious choice. But how about maple ricotta and strawberries for the filling? Or if that’s too boujee for you, just go full-on Buddy The Elf style.
2. Cinnamon roll mug cake
Forget about making a steamed pudding for dessert this year, this one will only take one minute in the microwave.
3. Cocktails
Add a splash of maple syrup to your cocktails for added natural sweetness.
Gifting
4. Maple-glazed nuts.
Christmas wouldn’t be the same without the nibbles. Level up your snacks this year by adding sweetness and spice to your nuts. Present them in a jar, complete with ribbon and a label; homemade gifts really are the best.
5. Maple truffles.
They sound fancy and they taste amazing, but they’re actually super simple to make. With some easy swaps, they can be made vegan too.
6. Maple fudge.
Using only three ingredients, you’ll be able to whip up Christmas gifts for the whole family before you can say syrup.
Sharing
7. Churros.
Vegans, you’ll love this one. Imagine yourself at the Christmas markets when you bite into these fluffy doughnuts, dipped in glorious maple syrup.
8. Maple glazed Brussels sprouts.
This one’s strictly for the final year students who are reaching adulthood. Freshers beware.
9. Pecan pie.
Bring a taste of the States to the UK this year with a vegan pecan pie recipe that’ll taste just like Christmas.
10. Banana bread.
Everyone knows how to make banana bread now due to lockdown, so why not make it ultimate by adding some syrupy goodness?
Who said maple syrup was only for pancakes? Grab that bottle out of the cupboard and get indulging, gifting and sharing this Christmas on the cheap. Remember, it’s the thought that counts.
