The University of Westminster

Since my first year at this university, I could observe how terrible effect continuous lack of funding has on the quality of delivered curriculum.

Good central London location but badly designed campus' with poor social areas. The library is loud and messy as it is used as a break space.

The campus looks like a rundown hospital from the outside but the inside has all things needed. I always wonder what I'm paying 9K for because all we get are lecture slides that have nothing on them. The tutors are patronising so I hate asking them things because they talk to me like I'm stupid. If it's all about independent learning then I shouldn't have to pay 9K.

Good lecturers but the module selections for the first two years are quite limited. The uni experience here isn't particularly social.

Library is one of the best things about this uni. It's new and massive, has many resources. I feel as thought the Harrow campus should've been located elsewhere as the art and design students would benefit more from having their campus in the city.

UofW is not one of the best universities in the country, however for a fairly small university the atmosphere and vibes are great. For myself my lecturers are quite engaging.. most of the time and it's not too much of an issue wanting to turn up to lectures! The best part about UoW is the location! CENTRAL LONDON, it's amazing!!

I think the campus I go to for lectures is a bit basic, the other campus' for my university have a lot more to them. Whereas my campus is pretty boring. I really do enjoy my course, I feel like I learn a lot of different things that peak my interest. The student union is easily accessible and very helpful. In terms of career services it's a bit difficult to get appointments to speak to a careers person.

I currently study accounting at the University of Westminster. Overall my experience has been OK. It's not an amazing university and not a bad one for a number of reason. First and foremost the teachers with the exception with 2 feel very subpar. Their explanation can feel very poorly explained and i and many others would very often refer to the revision books for a clearer explanation. I spent last year at Brunel university and the teaching there feels better paced and explained. The campus and facilities however are quite good. There are 4 different campuses that are located very closely together and have their own features that students can make use of such as lounges for students and relax, socialise and revise with pool tables and table tennis and also a good and affordable student gym with standard gym equipment and boxing equipment (for when that uni stress hits you like a brick). One complaint however are the ventellation in some rooms are very poor and can feel very hard to concentrate when it is stinky and hot

Its a good uni most lecturers are really good and friendly however some departments are not as good as they could be like the languages department but it could be the type of resources used.

In terms of location of the university was really good; there was plenty of places to eat (although they were pretty expensive). As this was in the middle of the city there was enough transport but you would have to face the possibility of rush hour which is not ideal when all you’re trying to do is study and prepare for your lessons. In my personal opinion I don’t feel the teachers/professors were as helpful as they could be; they often took long to reply to emails and perhaps could explain some of the work in a more clear way. The university’s ‘blackboard’ system was very basic and can be confusing.

my course is one of the best in the world and as a result was very intense, it was also very isolated from the rest of the uni so my experience ls different from other people. I did not participate in many student organised activities like unions due to lack of time but I must say my course was quite unorganised, however it was very prestigious and has given me a incredible CV

My campus is quite small and doesn't really have a campus vibe, most people just come to their classes and lectures and then leave. The facilities are not bad but the faculty can seem quite disorganised.

Good campus location however a lot of lecturers in the science faculty are not good at lecturing, lots of broken science equipment and not enough money spent on the labs. Not enough resources available in the library. Some lecturers are really helpful however a lot are either condescending or mostly unavailable.

Unless you study in the business school. Then your campus will be unsatisfactory. A lot of progression has been made in regards to student experience such as field trips. However, much is needed to stimulate ‘school spirit’.

The student union could be a lot better - it’s very old and not very modern for young students. It’s very small and feels like a 15 year olds school disco

The facilities are very good although many of the lecturers are too strict for the low ranking of the university

Modern facilities such as library and loan laptops , but some lecturers are too strict as the ranking of the University isnt high

Good university and facilities helpful for students. Better interaction with teachers is needed. Food is quite expensive for university students

The course was not well organised. The facilities in the studio were poor. If something was broken I.e the cupboards it would not get fixed immediately. However the lab facilities are really good. Amazing range of machines too use.

It’s alright. There are really good teachers and a lot of teachers that just don’t care. The workload is also very mentally strenuous.

The course is absolutely amazing. I am learning what I came to learn. My campus is colourful and beautiful. The students union works hard for us. Most of the students don’t participate which i don’t really like. My experience has been a bit rough and good at the same time.

The campus is nice but could have more sociable areas and is quite small. The vibe of the uni is slightly cold and not that friendly but accedemicaly there is good recourses including career services. The structure of my course is good, the lectures are engaging.

The campus was fantastic, nothing much to be mentioned at fault for this. However the library needed more seating areas, another floor for group work and more books relevant to the subjects on campus rather than them being shared on all campus' Technology was great in seminar and lecture rooms, lots of rooms on campus so when we had group work it was easy to find a room to study and practice presentations.

Campus is ok.. Facilities are way broader than expected. my course has left me unsatisfied and that's why I need to change.
