Great facilities and large campus. Many different activities and socities to join and socialise. Poor academic organisation and student support in some cases.

To be able to acknowledge reality at university. Lectures very informative and helpful in understanding the concept of the modules.

My experience at QMUL was incredibly mixed. I studied law and graduated this summer. The Law facilities were great; lecturers and tutors were awesome and helpful- they were all very passionate about the subject. However with limited office hours it was quite difficult especially in third year to get one on one time in. Aesthetically, Some of the classrooms were dated so I think the law building could do with a bit of a revamp! With bigger classes at times people have to get extra chairs from other empty classes and the whole room is full, with literally no room to get up and go out. A nightmare for claustrophobes!! I don't know if that's an allocation issue but especially for Jurisprudence semester 2, it was anxiety inducing picking which seminar to attend for fear of being stuck with 50 people in one room. Extra curricular affairs were good! But there could be more done to promote! There's lots of support for entrepreneurs which I will still be utilising even post Grad. Overall my experience was good.

The campus is very small and is usually packed with people during day time, but it has some nice spots shuch as the canal side. There is not many places where u can socialise between lectures and most of the time u will not find a space to go. The course is good but the teaching quality is not great. Student union try to make changes but they also makes a lot of changes to improve religious practices rather than sduent life experience for example they refurbished the biggest social hall in uni last year with a new carpet so that they close it every Friday exclusively for Friday prayers for Muslims students which is unfair for other students who want to use the place.

I am a university student studying maths so the course is very hard! The lecturers are either amazing or can't teach properly and it's either one or the other. There are places to sit and work but overall there needs to be more campus space for revision as places fill up very quickly and it's annoying when you can't find a place to sit and revise.

I went to queen mary, but I didn't like the school. Ithe teachers was not good and the facilities at school was old or broken. I do not recommend this school.

I feel like though QMUL is a diverse environment, it doesn't actually commit to supporting that diverse body. Black history month isn't supported and is openly forced onto black societies with no budget. Tolerance is given not to miniorities but to offensive and racist societies which should be shut down. The consistent disregard and non-commitment to making this a better place for its black student body by the student union is pitiful. The careers services are great - if you want to do a professional vocational job. If you want to be a creative you are forgotten about, much like the black student body.

The campus has many of the required or expected facilities that a main campus should have. The Curve, which is the main cafeteria at the university, provides reasonably-priced food, however could do with extended opening hours. There are other various cafes and convenience stores dotted around campus, which is useful for a campus this size. There does not seem to be enough study space however, particularly during exam season. My course, which is Business Management, is a fairly basic course, and personally I believe it did not provide me the experience that I had expected. Teaching for some modules were very lacklustre, where it even seemed that some lecturers were not taking their classes very seriously. So my course was underwhelming.

There are a lot of study places so even if the library is packed, you could probably definitely find someone else to study.

The overall atmosphere of the uni is nice and friendly as it is a campus based university. However, the School of Engineering and Materials Science could do with better organisation. It has been fun to study here but the facilities can be found to regularly be faulty. The main attraction of the of the uni is that the lectures are recorded and the library is nearby. There are also lots of societies and so it's a very sociable uni.

The campus is quite small which is very good for London as everything is in one location and means that you don't have to travel around much. The facilities on site are good, with a lot of the campus having undergone renovation in the past 2 years, however this has resulted in cancelled experiments etc. due to being out of use. Aerospace engineering was a very fun course, the lecturers are very supportive and will help you if you ask. The support network from uni staff is great, particularly the Advice & Counselling team. The careers service for SEMS is amazing, very helpful, can't comment on the university as a whole.

The campus is quite good- lots of local shops and restaurant with good deals for students. The organisation is where I feel it's lacking as there are many mishaps. This especially includes my course which involves clinics and they are rarely organised well. Even if students are dissatisfied and let QM know, there's little chance something will be done.

I was a Biology at Queen Mary University of London from 2015 to 2018. I had been offered a position through clearing after initially pursuing a Medicine placement which I was not successful in attaining. The course was relatively enjoyable. Queen Mary has a very intense focus on a comparative approach to Biology, which focused on many different species across the animal kingdom- so if you’re interested in human biology this wouldn’t be the course for you! The facilities are nice and clean and easy to find. The rooms can often be over-crowded and for some reason, the heating is always on, in every building. Literally all the time. Nobody knows why. The careers services were pretty lack-lustre. There isn’t much help available. On my first week at the university, I was really struggling with the idea of not being a doctor and I was unhappy in my course and not really feeling like I fit in. I went to see the student support officer who essentially told me to give up and drop out. This still shocks me to this day. Best to avoid them. I will say that the people attending Queen Mary are the nicest human beings ever. It is a diverse community with friendly like-minded people. The students in the School of Biological and chemical science are always happy to help each other out and it’s a wonderful team to be a part of.

I attend the medical school part of queen Mary known as Barts. Barts is a brilliant medical school with great people there to support you through your 5/6 years of university. There are many facilities and endless number of societies available to cater for everyone’s hobbies and interests. There are such a diverse population of people and great way to meet new people and discover new cultures that some maybe unaware of.

The university is quite small and friendly. The staff that have taught me were mostly good and I’ve enjoyed all of my modules. However, the admin for my course seem to be very disorganised and a few people found that their tometables were still being sorted out 3 weeks into term which isn’t good enough. Overall, it’s a good uni and there’s plenty of stuff to do.

The university is diverse and welcoming. It is known for its involvement with its community. I enjoy working and studying there.

Campus is close by which makes travel easy, but there’s a lack of support in terms of extra material for revision etc

Academically speaking, Queen Mary has good lecturers and facilities to help you work hard and achieve the grades you want, even if the work is independent. The campus however does not focus on the social aspect of university and it can be difficult to meet people similar to you

My course (Economics and Politics) combines two very interesting subjects however what is upsetting is that there is little focus on how those to subject are related. Politics modules are often uninspiring and do not encourage discussion but focus on one narrative. The student union works very actively towards improving students' lives and their involvement is very visible on campus. They run a lot of events to celebrate cultural diversity on campus as well as organise a lot of Freshers events during Welcome Week what integrates students and helps them make the most of their experience. Events such as clothes swap, speed dating, theatre trips, live music sessions, move screenings. Careers services are very helpful and usually you can schedule an appointment the same day and you can get very constructive feedback on your cv and cover letters.

Firstly, the overall appearance of the university is not breathtaking but it is decent. There are a few new and modern buildings that make the whole university appear eye catching. I do appreciate how the library had been upgraded particularly the silent computer room because it allows me to have all the relevant resources whilst the opportunity to revise in silent. However, the university is quite small so the best equipped facilities are only accessible to those on a first person basis.

My course constantly had schedule changes in my final year, with really good seminar leaders being replaced by rubbish ones. Only reason I've rated it 3 stars.

Not enough lecture and seminar hours. It should have more study areas. Bad timetable organisation. Good variety of modules to choose.

Queen Mary Univeristy London is situated in between Mile End Station and Stepney Green which means it’s easily accessible through Central, District and Hammersmith and City lines. The campus is quite big especially for one in London, however you do have some campuses which are in other areas depending on your course. For someone like myself who studies mathematics you’ll never have to worry about commuting to other destinations as all your classes and lectures are in the Mile End campus, except for during exam season then you may end up in Wapping. All in all a big learning curve.

The course I am on is pretty interesting, however, I feel as though some of the uni is a bit worn down and could be renovated.
