It’s a nice location, there’s lots to do in the day and night. The fact everything is so close together removes the scary big city feeling.

Southampton is great for nights out featuring many different clubs such as Jesters, Oceana and The Edge to name a few. For the more nerdy of alcohol lovers there is also The Hobbit, a lord of the rings inspired pub which has played guest to Sir Ian McKellen and Steven Fry on multiple occasions. Southampton is teaming with a fantastic day life as well as night life with West Quay shopping centre open from early to late to enjoy a great day out shopping and having fun. If you are coming here for just accomodation then you are a little limited as to hotels however Premier Inn comes highly recommended by myself as it is close to the heart of town for easy accessibility and each room offers guaranteed comfort.

Everywhere in southampton is max a 30 minute bus ride away. The centre boasts a huge shopping centre with a gigantic food court and cinema as well as many other shops on the high street. There are many nights out in Southampton from studenty clubs in Portswood to giant ones such as switch and Oceana in the centre.

I love going out in Southampton as there are so many different clubs to go to for a different vibe, you can start your night somewhere chill like vodka revs or turtle bay and then depending on your type of night there are so many clubs that cater to you, for example the social , heartbreakers, orange rooms, Tokyo, Buddha ... and these are all within walking distance which make sure it even better, if you like a bigger more commercial night club then Oceana is the place to go and there is even a free bus here from the clubs mentioned first. Food is amazing, onto west quay they have just built a whole new food court which is great and has loads of amazing new restaurants ! My favourite personally is losteria, and my favourite Japanese restaurant in Southampton is Sakura !

There are lots of pubs, bars and clubs in Southampton but clubs are pretty naff. Closer to the city centre there are so many restaurants it's hard to chose where to eat out. The highstreet is a 10min bus ride from uni and there are Buses every 5min. The only problem is bus tickets are 2 pounds for a single or 3.50 for a return. You get a free bus pass if you're in uni halls of residence.

The location of Southampton is perfect. Surrounded on both sides by beautiful countryside, including the New Forest & the South Downs; yet only an hour from London and minutes away from the south coast beaches. Southampton is a perfect starter-city for anyone who wants to be more in the thick of it during University. It also boasts West Quay for shopping, the Watermark for eating & entertainment, & numerous clubs for a good night out (including the infamous Jesters). Bus links are excellent, with the unilink bus meeting your every need for travel within the city & the cities railway system covering you for travel outside of the city. Southampton is in the South, so can be a bit more on the pricey-side. However, there are still decent places to live for a decent price & plenty of things to do for free or minimal charge. I would highly rate Southampton for its location.

Its a good bit to do in Southampton. The mall is very big and many different store to choose from. Prices on students nights are pretty good as well not to expensive for students. The school is accessible by bus which I have to take because I live in the city centre.

Nights out are good, plenty of choice on nightclubs and somewhere to go any night of the week. Drinks are good value for money during the week.

Nights out are okay, but you can't go anywhere without your id, even if you're 40. The are lots of new restaurants in Southampton

Southampton is a general nice place, I feel the city is very student focused. Night life is really good, and there is a lot going on throughout the city for students every night. There is so many places to go for dinner and a nice shopping centre. A pretty marina and many places you can go to see the cruises ships with Southampton being the main port for the UK.

Nights out are decently cheap for a city if you go on a student night, big shopping centers like Westquay have loads of restaurants and shops to enjoy.

Southampton is a great place for shopping and night life, there are two shopping centres and more shops in the highstreet so there is plenty of variety. They’re are many clubs and pubs within the area too and most of them are close to the centre. It is such a big city that it can be tiring walking around but most of the shops are centred in the highstreet, West quays shopping centre and Marlands shopping centre, there is also a ASDA supermarket close to both shopping centres.

Southampton is in a brilliant location- only a few hours from London (by train or national express), a stone's throw from the beautiful New Forest and then not far from other beautiful places such as the Isle of Wight or Winchester.

Southampton Solent Uni is located in the center of Southampton, meaning its only a 5 minute walk from the high street! There are also lots of restaurants, pubs and clubs. There are lots of parks and open spaces which is great to chill and play football, and the train station means you can get into the new forest or even london quickly.

There are a variety of shops for food shopping as well as west quay for retail shopping. At Christmas there is a German market selling all kinds of stuff and there are always things going on outside west quay

One of the reasons why I chose my uni was because of the location, being in the South I was told that the weather would be better. While it is better than some other cities more to the North, I must say it rains more than I would like it to. The Southampton Docks are amazing to go to have a walk, watch the sunset and maybe see a big cruise ship. Money wise, rent and nights out can be more expensive down here than in the North, but there are many places to get a part time job.

Nights out: only a handful of venues worth going to Switch Junk Oceana Jesters Sobar. Suprisingly quite a lot of food places in and around southampton main franchises in west quay/city centre vicinity. Will find all the normal city eateries. The new Watermark building contains lots a new restaurants. Shoppings ok, west quay has all the big high street shops. Generally pretty cheap in southampton
