It's such a lovely city with lots of nature and trees and lovely lovely people (everyone calls you love or duck). I would reccomend a big £6.50 roast from the red lion right in the city near sheffield Hallam, bit of a walk but worth it if you're hungry. Botanical and winter gardens are a must, and I'm sure there are other amazing parks I've not yet found. Eccleshall road has lots of great places for dinner. Peaks are beautiful and a tiny bus ride away.

I live near the city centre and there is so many restaurants, night clubs and shops nearby. If I wasn't to go further afield I only have to travel 20 minutes from city centre.

Brilliant city with a great night life. Good city for students and everything feels quite student orientated. Bus and tram system really good too

Sheffield is a great place to study and live. It has fantastic transport links in and about the city especially the tram and for any shopping needs or meals out meadowhall is only a 30 minutes journey away . You always feel safe in Sheffield and there is plenty to do day and night hence why I have given 5 stars .

Excellent place to study. Location of the University and accommodation is in the safest more affluent areas of Sheffield, and only a short walk away from the bars/clubs of West Street and the city centre. The tram you can take from the university takes you straight to one of the biggest shopping centres in the country! North of England is always better value for money too!

The city is incredible! So much to do and experience for cheap prices! Night outs occur every night with a student night appearing at every club with often £1 drinks! The food has many places to eat if you’re looking for something on your door step one eccessal road or more into the city centre but if you’re wanting to venture out and do some shopping as well there are many food venues at meadow hall. With the peaks on your doorstep too there are several things to do and boredom is never a thing! Hop on a bus for a student rate and head over to the peaks to explore the country side. Or, if the city is more your thing then the city centre has amazing things to do with even Leeds a train ride away costing no more than £5!

The great thing about Sheffield is that it is a major city and therefore you have access to all things such as night life, good food and social events that you can find in London, but for half the price! It’s so cheap here I don’t think I could live anywhere else

Good prices, big city centre, lots of different types of entertainment: nights out, restaurants (Leopold square/ London road), City hall, Town hall, parks: Devonshire Green/ Botanical gardens, festivals: Tramlines, gyms, shopping: Meadowhall, the Moor. PERFECT CITY TO LIVE IN WITH HAPPY PEOPLE

Great city with plenty to do! The city is not too big and there's a nice community feel to the place. Good nightlife, beautiful surrounding areas (Peak District) and great people!

Whether it's a night out that won't ruin your wallet's chances of survival, the crisp and quiet air of the peak district being just a short bus ride away or if you're just a little bit edgy, Sheffield has something for you. Both Sheffield Hallam University and the University of Sheffield are known for their respective charms and qualities, but the city itself is what'll mold you and your time here. The nightlife is decent, not Leeds level, but it'll do! With meadowhall just a bus or a tram away, all your shopping needs are fulfilled, with a newly regenerated moor being worked on to bring even more of your favourite high street amenities to the city centre. Whilst some look at Sheffield as a diet version of other larger cities, you'll have to immerse yourself within the friendly atmosphere and really explore to find the lowkey hidden gems that you came for.

Sheffield is one of the best student cities in the UK. With it’s diversity in cultures, people, and languages it’s very difficult for a student not to fit in. Many people know Sheffield for being extremely friendly with fantastic night life. There are many public transport systems that take you directly to places of interest, such as the town centre, Peace Gardens, Meadowhall etc. Many things are also in walking distance too so accessing these places is not challenging. The list of things to do in Sheffield is endless so it’s the perfect city for people who are coming to Shefield to get the full “student experience”.

The location is brilliant. People think Sheffield is a big city that is hard to get around but everything you need is within a 2 mile radius. Plenty of nightclubs, bars and music venues to suit everyone. Lots of supermarkets and takeaways nearby to get food. Transport links to bramall lane, the o2, the lead mill etc mean you can get around easily and always find something to do. Mostly good value for money as most things are reasonably priced.

The location of this university is fantastic. I believe the city is not too small but not too big. It has a great central area of shops. Fantastic areas of bars. The bars have a variety of different types so there something for everyone. The transport links are fantastic and everywhere is well connected.

It's such a great location to go to uni - right next to the peak district, loads of places round here to live so whatever your price range you'll find somewhere. West Street is a great base for a night out and the two universities are quite near each other so you can live with mates from the other uni.

Great city. A very diverse nightlife too. From chain clubs, to independant cocktail bars, to the more niche speakeasy. Theres alot of activism and politics in this city, as well as alot of creativity. Its definitely a little different to your average northern city, and alot hillier and cheaper.

Location is great, easy to get around the city with loads of transport and cheaper for students. The nightlife at Sheffield is rather cheap especially in comparison with larger cities with lots of choice and offers available!!

Transport - mostly cheap, £1 singles in the buses but teams are pretty expensive and sometimes needed for exams Nights out are ridiculously cheap 90p Bombs and £1 singles a lot of clubs too Shopping is okay in centre but not too many shops, Meadowhall is pretty good but needs public transport from the city A lot of places to eat out all over the place too.

Sheffield is a small and friendly city. The university is located primarily just outside the city centre but close to accommodation within the student village and other housing areas. Sheffield provides all the facilities of a larger city without the daunting and unsafe feeling of larger cities

Really good uni in South Yorkshire. Very good links to basically anywhere via bus or train. It is net to the train station and you can be in London within 2 hours 30 minutes!

I chose my accomodation in the city centre and it's the best choice I've made! Leadmill is great for location as it's only a 2 minute walk to the uni, there's loads of local food shops and most of all all the club's are close so you're not paying taxi fares all the time! The uni itself is also in a great location as all the buildings are linked together and they're simple to get around!

Great everything you need is here. Clubs food bars and it's a great night out clubs open up until 6 in the morning. Would highly recommend.

The best thing about Sheffield is the value for money! You can really enjoy a social life without it costing a fortune. The uni is bang in the centre of the city and because there are two unis it really is run by students.
