Very good student experience. Lots of great bars and nightclubs for each year as progress through university. Good prices in bars and varying nights out for everyone. Good area for living with good prices for rent.

The reasons I love sheffield; it's a city with a town type feel, everyone is really friendly and there's always a stranger up for a chat, its easy to get around on public transport and feels safe, it's cheaper than a lot of other cities for socialising, there's loads of free activities to do, it's massively close to the peak district to get away from it all, there's loads of decent parks if you can't be doing with the 20 minute drive to the peaks, the nightlife is great and all the bars are really close together!

I have lived in Sheffield all my life and love it so much that I chose to go to Sheffield Hallam University. There is so much to do in the city, with something to suit everyone. The nightlife is also very good, with something good to go to every night no matter what your music taste! Sheffield is also very cheap, particularly drinks prices which is ideal on a night out!

Very innovative idea. It especially benefits students who live on a budget and want to eat some good food every once in a while. It is totally worth it and I don't see why anyone wouldn't give it a go.

The City of Sheffield is brilliant! The people are really friendly, and there is a great sense of community. There is a great art and music scene, with plenty of street art, galleries, pub and clubs. The city is tailored for students and the Halls and student accommodation is in the right areas, and close to the city centre. I love Sheffield, and so do my friends. We have an extensive bucket list, and trying to tick them all off! We don't ever want to leave!!!

I just think everything is great in this town, but some of the restaurants are just expensive for a student. I will be very happy if I'll get this tastecard. I would enjoy more to go out with my friends and I'll do not make any problems that something will be so expensive.

The city has a lot to offer. There is a great range of shops and, if you want more, you can jump on the supertram and go to the Meadowhall shopping centre. As well as this, there is something for everyone. You can watch shows at the Crucible theatre and, at the moment, you can get involved in a range of Christmas activities, including; the markets, fairground rides and events. There is a good choice of restaurants and bars and everything is within walking distance.

Bwfore arriving to Sheffield I did not know what to expect and I was pleasantly surprised. The city has a uniform feeling of the metal industry that it once ones with it's brick houses and industrial buildings. There is plenty of green places for you to visit and take a picknik or play some ball. The city has a huge amount and choice of cuisine with restaurants providing foods from all over the world. There are also alot of small and cozy cafeeswhere you can have the best brunches and afternoon teas. For the one that likes nightlife there is a variety of bars and clubs offering dofferent theme parties and music styles, you can get the best coctails at the revolution de Cuba! If you are fast enough you can get 2-4-1 coctails in many places. There are many good study places with cafes, warm rooms and comfortable seat, Information Commons being the best. Sheffield truly has it all for everyone. It is however a loud student city but has alot of things to do for everyone, from hiking, shopping, clubbing and exploring. It is also a very kind and welcoming city.

Absolutely amazing city, everyone is so friendly! Was there for a weekend and just loved it. It is a proper Northern city, but the people are just lovely. Everyone should experience the Sheffield way of life. It was easy to get around, lots of things to do and loads of places to eat!

Map Sheffield, located in South Yorkshire, England, is both a major industrial city and one of the greenest cities in the UK. TripAdvisor travelers particularly recommend the Sheffield Winter Garden and the Botanical Garden. After dark, you'll find a lively bar and club scene, a testimony to the town's large student population.

I personally believe Sheffield is a very scenic and well organised place. There's always plenty of places to eat from posh restaurants to culteral places such as chinese and also fast food places such as McDonalds. There's also plenty of shops to always wander around and so many great sights to see.

Sheffield is a great city, there's lots to do including many restaurants and shops in the city centre. There's a wide variety of places to eat for example in Leopold square. Also nightlife is great as there's lots of nightclubs to choose from. Around Christmas time there are Christmas markets in the city centre which are very popular. Sheffield also has good music venues for gigs.

Sheffield is a great student city. There's plenty to do without being too overwhelming for students leaving home for the first time. The city has something for everyone, especially in its diverse music scene. As a place to live it's relatively cheap for a city which is ideal for students. It can also appeal to outdoorsy people as the Peak District is not too far from the city. Everything in the city is walking distance or there is good public transport. Sheffield is like centreparcs for students!

it's really good for students and it's really close knit and close a lot to do around the city. so many clubs that have different kinds of music and vibes ect. loads of places to shop from primark from to new look and it's very close to where i am and the shops tend to be close together. so i can get groceries but also clothes ect at the same time

Great nights out at reasonably priced clubs to suit most music tastes. Corp is always good for most people and Leadmill is great all the time if you like indie music and certain nights for other music. Corp pints are legendary. Both also very good gig venues but drinks can be very expensive at these. Skool Disco and Club Tropicana are fantastic club nights. If you're wanting to move around West Street is the place to go, cheap drinks and low to no entry fee, always somewhere open late. Overall good value for money. Town isn't amazing for shops but Meadowhall is close. All the perks of a city without being too big and lots of bus routes into the Peak District for day trips.
