There is basically nothing in Salford. It's got great links to Manchester, but other than that it's not that great. Avoid the shopping city at all costs and any streets nearby, and avoid bolton road and all those streets nearby. So dodgy.

I have lived here for a few months and I find it easy to get around. The area is not the prettiest but it has nice walks and some cool food joints. Also, its is walking distance to downtown Manchester, so I enjoy being close to the big city.

Manchester city centre and the arndale centre is just a 10 minute drive away. The printworks cinema is also a 10 minute drive. There is a Mcdonalds on every turn however other than that Salford is a little scarce on quality fast food options for students.

Salford looks quite raggy and isn't very wellmaintains from what i can see. The road are absolutely riddled with pot holes and while there are are good transport links into Manchester they're essential as there is nothing in salford to do. No nights out club, no entertainment centres that I'm aware of and no decent pubs for a student night out worth mentioning. There is a small shopping centre which is very convenient as well as a retail park on regent road. There are takeaways everywhere and most are on just eat however I haven't seen an actual restaurants around that isn't in a hotel anyway other than at the Quays. I think that it's a low value for money because they make the things in the area to do with living so expensive but still low quality because of the university.
