Exeter halls was great, especially Pennsylvania court. Catered with modern rooms with en suites and double beds. The actual halls of residence was incredible, however if could be cliquey at times. Wouldn't have changed my experience for the world though!

I lived in Ransom Pickard which is catered, shared bathrooms. Had an amazing time, the accommodation team really puts a lot of effort into matching you with likeminded people (you fill in a questionnaire during application). Rooms were decent sized and got cleaned every fortnight. Bathrooms were cleaned 4 days a week so sharing was not a problem at all; there were approx 4 ppl per shower and 3 per toilet.

Everyone is super friendly and social. Rooms are a good size, and the bathrooms are very clean. Tea rooms are useful, but would be better if they had a hob and toaster. The location of the halls is amazing - very central and they're close to both campus and towns. There is also a co-op very close which is very handy. It is a little bit annoying that there is only one common room considering the size of Exeter Halls. That being said, the dining room is very good for socialising, and mostly the food is good - though it can sometimes be a little sketchy!! Overall I really like Exeter Halls, and my first term there has been so fun.

Great rooms, very nice location close to Forum! However food from halls is very average and definitely not as social as self-catered.

Lopes is one of the more basic student halls with catered facilities and the rooms are not en suite but I’ve found it to be just what I needed at university. Half the rooms here are twin but I was lucky to get my own room and most people end up with a twin room to themself anyway. The food is fine and it’s nice to eat altogether every day as it makes you really tight with your hallmates. As an older building Lopes has a bit less security than other halls that require a key or fob to access both the building and your flat section but I appreciate the freedom to have access to each floor in Lopes as it makes it a lot more social. The only downside is the noise which has often been an issue as you can hear everything outside your room and the floorboards/doors are squeaky/thumping/thin. I still feel like I have everything I need, though, so I’m glad I didn’t pay any more for a more expensive accommodation because I really don’t need to.

I stayed in ransom pickard and for the price it was fantastic accommodation, great food and in a great location. The social experience was great and my room was a good size being on the end of a block making it that bit bigger!

The halls have a lovely atmosphere the rooms themselves are really big and are much better than many other halls that I have visited. The kitchen provides a nice shared space but the rooms are by far the best aspect

I enjoyed the location of my halls, and liked the fact it included meals. The downside was I had to share my room, which meant less privacy. The upside was because everyone shared we had a very open living area.

Exeter Halls are the most conveniently located student halls to the city centre, being a 15 minute walk away with a Coop and the student marketplace being within a short walking distance. The location is the biggest positive as having known people who live in Burks Grange and Duryard, on the opposite end of campus, it's a long walk from the city centre and a challenging walk up to campus given Cardiac hill. Exeter Halls have a strong social life as well, with most students converging in the main building where the common room and the canteen are located. The single rooms are a decent size, with Pennsylvania Court being a good accommodation if your looking for more privacy as it is exclusively ensuites, but arguably at the cost of a less vibrant social setting. The value for money is good if you're someone who doesn't like to cook, but the food is a bit hit-and-miss, fortunately, there are always curly fries to accompany a decent meal or to just entirely replace a substandard one.
