Nottingham is a great city to live in, it has everything you need when it comes to shopping and entertainment. The Victoria centre is great as it has a wide choice of retail shops and the market upstairs comes in handy. You'll be spoilt for choice when it comes to restaurants and a lot of places have discounts for students.

I came to Nottingham in September for university and I love it so far, the city is beautiful and I have settled in so well. There's plenty of places to eat, and shopping centre that's a perfect size and has loads of shops inside. The nightlife is so good and there's a variety of clubs to pick from depending on music taste, it's hardly an expensive city and you definitely get value for money!

Nottingham is a very vibrant city both in the day and in the night. Theres always something to do because there is that much going on in this city. Lots of restaurants, bars, nightclubs, and shopping places to! The nightclubs are fantastic, nottingham is well known for its nightlife and it does defo live up to that! Especially the students nights because its lit and drinks are cheap usually 2 for 1. You can never got bored of what to do in this city its always alive and the amount of places to eat is amazing. You can literally eat whatever you like and prices are very decent because theres always deals and student deals.

Nottingham has the most fantastic range of restaurants, from world buffets to fabulous tapas places and, the best, Heavenly Desserts. Also home to the infamous nightclub 'Crisis', Nottingham is probably the best town for student nights out. Value for money is pretty good and travel around the city is very cheap and very easy.

An medium sized city with several distinct areas Nottingham has something for everyone. Excellent public transport links make it easy to get around and the town centre is packed full of shops, cafes and restaurants, all within walking distance of each other.

Nottingham is the place I want to live in in the future. I studied in Nottingham and it was one of the best cities I've been to. It has everything you need from places to eat out (after 3 years there I still have so many on my list to try!), to shopping (I'm going to come back for Christmas to buy presents and go to the Christmas market in the centre), to things to do. My favourite place in the world is Wollaton Hall and I can't wait to visit this beautiful building once again! It's also very cheap to live in and the wide range of club's and bars means there is something for everyone at a very cheap price. Plus, the transport is brilliant there, £3.50 for a day bus pass from the time you purchased your ticket until 3.59am? It was perfect for nights out and you're guaranteed to get home cheaply and safely. There was buses and trams stops everywhere, and the cheap price wouldn't even be dreamed of where I'm from in Northamptonshire. There is a lot of job opportunities in the area as well, and I'm hoping I can move back to the city again one day!

Absolutely love the night life, Pom Pom, Rock City, Stealth, Pryzm, Ink! There are so many nice places to go for food, the pudding pantry, copper, bills, slug and lettuce and whetherspoons! Loads of shops to choose from in the Intu Victoria Centre and around it Corner house consists of cinema and casino. Also theatre and royal concert hal are cool too. Very accessible through transport.

Endless places to shop and eat! Filled with little great independent shops and stores such as vintage if that is your type of thing but also highstreet stores! The Victoria centre is also great and has an urban outfitters. Cinema complex, bowling and crazy golf are also in the city. Tons of restaurants like Nando's, Bella Italia, pizza express etc or if you fancy something different curious manner and bunk do some fab food and drinks. I highly recommend doughnotts if you want a sweet treat! Hands down best doughnuts you will ever eat

Nottingham is an incredibly easy city to fall in love with, you can go pretty much anywhere for dead cheap, there's a wide range of entertainment for everyone, and although there isn't any massive out of town retail area, the shopping is all you'd expect and more from a reasonably sized city. There are so many different places to eat out or grab a drink that it's easy to find a new favourite place every time you visit the city centre, and if you r er feel like going elsewhere, you can get a train to pretty much anywhere in the country directly.

Amazing city, especially for a student. It is a good size, affordable, and offers plenty of things to do. There are plenty of clubs and bars to cater for whatever kind of night you are looking for. Additionally, Nottingham has all of the shops you could want.

Great music scene and nightlife. With two universities, this is a real student town, and a fab place to spend your university years.

Nottingham was amazing so much so that I've moved back here after graduating! There's always a different choice of places to eat, drink and go out. It's such a buzzing and amazing city and is appealing to anyone of all ages. There's so many shops too - definitely worth the travel for a shopping spree (one of my favourites being Sostrene Grene in Victoria Centre, I think this is the only shop in the U.K.!) there's mini golf, an arcade, and so many events that take place on Old Market Square such as Nottingham Beach that's on now (so you don't have to travel too far for some sand and a beach atmosphere!) the travel is amazing too, with the tram being so convenient and cheap, plus busses and trains too. I love Nottingham!

Amazing location for a university, right in the middle of a city that isn’t too overwhelming but is big enough to enjoy a variety of things including an array of nightlife - clubs, bars, raves (even the detonate festival). Great places to eat and shop, and also nearby entertainment such as cinemas, arcades and mini golf! Overall an amazing city, can’t beat Nottingham.

Good location in city centre, everything is in walking distance or can get the team or bus which are both very good. There’s lots of options for shops and restaurants and many which are good value!

Nottingham is great for a night out with plenty of student nights throughout the week! Most things are well within walking distance - shops/restaurants etc. from student housing/halls and there are also good bus links if needed. Being outside and north of London, you'll find food and drink to be good value for money! :)

Shopping in Nottingham is brilliant. The city centre has the Victoria centre which is the main place to go for your favourite shops, e.g superdry, urban outfitters, topshop, pandora etc. The broadmarsh centre is good for smaller cheaper shops e.g h&m. There are tonnes of chain shops and independent shops filling the city for any budget. Great vintage shops which are always a hit with visiting friends. Sooo many places to choose from to eat - incredible options for vegans and veggies, with independent eateries catering especially for them. Lots of chains recognise the high demand for this type of food and will provide special vegan and veggie menus! Or just ask and they generally understand and will point you towards your options. Going for drinks is great in Nottingham. They have every venue for every type of night you'd possibly want. Multiple different locations have Wetherspoons which is always a good option for a student on a budget. There are loads of chilled out pubs such as the sir john borlaise warren or six barrels. They have edgier bars such as brew dog and hockley arts club. Then there's the bodega and 400 rabbits for slightly more upbeat nights. Lots of bands come to the city, both in smaller venues such as rescue rooms or larger ones like rock city and the motorpoint arena. For a music lover there's always an up and coming band to see on a night out. Overall, a winner of a city.
