I live in Beeston part of Nottingham and it is a wonderful place with a loads of great shops nearby. only problem that all the clubs and night outs are on the other side of the town but that is easily fixed by a tram journey.
Nottingham is a very student-oriented city, which means there’s a good array of bars & cheap food. The Orange Tree is arguably one of the nicest pubs, with good prices. There’s a distinct lack of museums, compared to cities like Liverpool & York. The buses are regular & clean - the app is easy to use too. And there’s a great deal for students when it comes to bus fares. The entertainment in the city is really good, with a lot of live music, etc. And in the market square, there is a good array of market stalls every other month or so
The city is not big and everything is situated closely to each other and so it is very convenient. There are pubs and clubs where students usually do night outs and pretty safe since its a student city. There is a centre for ice skating and can go visit the historical places as well. The restaurants are nice and not very expensive and many of them has student discount.

The scene in Nottingham is generally quite pleasing. Everything is within walking distance and if for any reason you need to travel out the city then the public transport is very cheap and with the additional use of the trams it makes traveling very easy. The shopping is mediocre for a major city and there’s not much going for it food wise in comparison with Birmingham and Manchester.
Nights out are great, lots of choices for bars, clubs, restaurants etc. For all different age groups and people with different interests also! There’s plenty shops in the city centre and good transport links available to visit the city all of which are very quick and frequent. So many student prices and discounts available to do all you need to do within university.
In Nottingham, there are a varitey of places to eat as well as unique bars. It is very easy to get into the centre of town from the major student spots. Once in town, there are many studnet centred restautants that offer student discounts. There is a cookie dough bar which serves alcohol and cookie dough as well and is extreamly affordable. Aside from that Nottingham overall has a cute vibe with fun activites such as bowling and a planet bounce. Within the university campus of University of Nottingham the SU organises various activites within the city centre. The Nottingham Trent university is in City centre and is also accessible to all students. The city itself is extreamly student centred with access to food shops near many student accommodations and an active nightlife. It is definitely a good place to be!
The location of the Nottingham Trent University is great as all the lectures are only a few minutes away from the accommodation and although the campus is open the facilities are only available to university students. The city is nice, welcoming and overall great place to live It is known as a student city as it is mainly full of students. There are many discounts available to students and there is a lot of culture going on which is also good as you could go on a day trio with friends. The campus is in the middle of the town centre so any sort of shopping is easy and also tramlines run across all the campuses and to the station.
Nottingham is a vibrant city with alot to do on an average day and more facilities than the average big city, it has a large range of good quality restaurants, a great nightlife and is a great city for sport
Nottingham is a decently sized and vibrant city. There’s a good mix of all the high street chains were used to and an array of vintage and independent shops. Cafes are great and the restaurants and bars are more than enough. Plenty of green space too.
Amazing city! The eating out options are good as there is many different parts of the city all within walking distance. There is a night out every day of the week! Plenty of high street and high end stores. Value for money is good as it’s a high end city which isn’t too expensive
Nottingham has everything in need in a compact area so you are able to walk to anything. Loads of good bars/ stuff to do
Some of the best student nights out - cheap, varied and fun! Notts has everything a student could need.
The university city’s campus is embedded in the city centre that means you have access to loads of food places and shops, ranging from all levels of expensive. The city offers lots of things for everyone to do from all backgrounds and ages. There’s indoor trampolining for youngsters and Robin Hood trail for the outdoorsy type.
Great, cheap, safe nights out. Some decent Western and Asian food, has all the main high street shops and plenty of cinemas.
Nottingham May be considered in the middle of nowhere but I think that’s sellin it short. It has a surprisingly good food scene, there are many great bars and clubs for a night out, and there are fun events throughout the year like the Robin Hood beer festival and the Christmas market. Also, housing and food are quite cheap compared to other cities in England, so it’s a good value for the money. Parts of Nottingham retain the industrial, economically deprived feel, but the city centre and area around Uni Park and Jubilee campus are quite nice.
Nottingham has a great range of gyms, shops and restaurants if you’re in the town centre. This is perfect if you’re going to Trent University City campus or even UoN main campus. The train from UoN main campus takes 15 mins straight to the city centre and is every 10 mins which is amazing. Loads of other things to offer in the city like bowling, ice skating, trampolining and the cinema. Nottingham has a great night life also.
Good food good night life good transport Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Indian, Italian, French food all around the town
Good night life, good food, so convenient. There are Chinese, Japanese, Indian, French, Italian food. Clubs all around town, pubs are the same. Supermarkets around the town, with a big shopping mall. And other shops around the town for new fashionable clothes
Lots of restaurants, clubs and a variety of shops from big name retailers to local independent. Lots of things to do as there is multiple cinemas, an ice rink where you can skate or watch an ice hockey game. Cheap local transport that can take you sites such as Wollaton Hall and other university campuses.
First, it is easy to find halal food here since I am a Muslim. There are variety of things to shop and there are many restaurants and cafes to eat with friends. There are even a lot of things to do such as ride a bicycle around the city, go to bars and pubs and visit museums. And what I like about Nottingham is sometimes they have festivals in the city. But what I love the most is sometime during the weekends there are many food booths in front of the Old Market Square where it’s just hard to resist not buying them. At night, the city centre is so lively where I can just hang out with friends. I also love the structure of the buildings which mixed of modern and vintage styles in one city. Most importantly, the transportation here is very accessible and convenient to get to anywhere.
I really think that Nottingham is a great location for students, especially the City Centre. Shopping & Food: throughout my 3 years living here the development of the shopping centre has improved dramatic e.g. New stores like Krispy Kremes, Las Igunanas, and other non-fast food restaurants that all offer great student discount (always ask for student discount most places do it including local stores). Also, there are various shops from mainstream and high end as well as thrift stores. Nights out are fun however, most clubs do not always cater toward updated "urban" music which I like, so there's a difficulty with that. Overall, Nottingham is a great place to study and live, almost like a miniature London.
Starting with Nottingham’s nightlife it is one of the best with 5 major nightclubs all in the centre of the city, there are also so many take aways for food after a night out or just for a cheeky take away. Two big shopping centres and many shops around the city centre means that there is always fun activities to do here.
Amazing city. I'm used to the hustle and bustle of London but have really enjoyed getting to know Nottingham! Great nightlife in the town centre plus an amazing Waterstones and loads of different cafes for lots of different people!
