Horniman House

Horniman House is an accommodation for couples and families located on campus, less than 10 minutes away from libraries, Students’ Union and university buildings. It provides well-sized flats, with wi fi and all bills included for a very reasonable price considering its location. The main downside for me is the lack of phone signal... I thus can’t use my internet data either. The wi fi is generally good, but it did fail me in two key moments (exam periods) - however, the maintenance people, including the internet ones are usually helpful and quick with solving issues. They provide trips all year round which residents can vote the location for between given options, however often I found them inconviently planned in exam periods / busy times. This is something that could perhaps be changed. The room is well sized compared to other student accommodations I have lived in and it’s nice having a whole flat for yourself and your partner for much less than what you would pay in unnecessarily fancy student accommodation - especially as you get access to the gym facilities they have for a whole year for only a tenner per person. The gym is not great but it’s enough for good excercise. Equipment could be improved and more machines could be added but you get what you pay for so it’s reasonable!
