The Holt

The hall is located in a great environment and the space around it allows for students to play any kinds of sports or just chill out. The facilities are extremely adequate, and there are a range of rooms available. However, it is still a shame that this hall isn't located directly on campus as sometimes the student life vibe is missing.

The Location of my halls can sometimes be awkward when it comes to lifestyle, there are no shops close by so a 20 minute walk can be inconvenient and it is also about a 30 minute walk to the uni library. However the location is fairly quiet which is good for studying. The facilities are nice enough but I have had problems with both my en suite shower and room heating more than once which has caused inconvenience for myself and my flatmates. The social experience hasn't been the best, especially as I know people in other halls who have a real sense of community- I don't get that here. I do like that there are on site facilities though such as laundry and parcel delivery.

The Holt is a very fun and sociable hall, full of various difference activities to enhance the inclusivity of its residents. Despite being off campus, it is a short walk from both campus and town which makes it ultra convenient! I had a fab first year in this hall which has a lively and exciting atmosphere!

The Holt is off-campus but only a short walk away from all my main lecture buildings. The Holt isn't the most social hall but isn't the quietist either, which I think is a good mix! My room has exactly what I wanted and needed!
