A beautiful place to study with picturesque architecture and riverside paths. Enough things to do throughout the year with events most weekends.

Durham is a beautiful city and ideal for students in my opinion. There are countless cafes hidden around the city and many restaurants to choose from as well. Nightlife isn’t the best and Durham is home to the worst nightclub in Europe but everyone has a soft spot for Klute regardless of its rep.

Cheap, simple but slightly repetitive nightlife. Small city so living anywhere is a good location. Accommodation is very expensive for what you get.

Nice to live close to friends and be able to walk anywhere but not the best nightlife still enjoy it all though

Most things found in town and if not Newcastle is like 15 minutes away by train. All decent high street shops and both independent and chain restaurants for a good price. Everything really near by which is great because you don't need to pay for transport. It is easier if you are part of a Bailey college for distance. Clubs are all close too.

Mostly everything you need here. Loads of good food places both chain and independent. Not crazy expensive and everything is really close. Shopping is fine for what you need and Newcastle is only 15 minutes away. Haven't paid for transport in Durham at all yet which is fab. Only wish we had a Primark ):
