I feel like Canterbury is a great student city. There isn't A LOT to do, but at the same time there's just enough to keep yourself entertained. I've had some great night outs and some average ones. There's a decent number of places to eat out and the shopping centre has a bunch of the major brands. Basically everything you require. I don't have a lot of other places to compare it to money wise but I feel like it's averagely cheap.

In the town, there are plenty of restaurants to chose from. Wetherspoons is nice a cheap. Mcdonald's 24/7 close to a three floor club. Train direct to london. Coaches travel all over the UK and some into Europe - near the Eurostar. Campus is out of town which is nice, just students and lots of walks. Facilities on campus are great, however, during peak times , it is hard to find a spot in the library. Only negative is the price, the shop on campus us more expensive than coop.

The location of CCCU is perfect, everything you need is within walking distance or a short bus/taxi ride away if you’re feeling lazy. There is an event to go to most nights and there are plenty of shops and places to eat during the day.

I moved to Canterbury few months ago but this little gem would not stop surprising me! I cannot believe how such a small town can fit everything you need: from all kinds of shops and brands, to amazing crafts, local and artisan food and, of course, night out events for all the variety of music lovers. With 3 universities in the area there, there are a lot of young people who bring this vivid energy. Being a student at University for the Creative Arts, I enjoy and like to visit all the venues and exhibitions that happen from time to time. Even just walking on High street during the day you can fill your eyes with beautiful hand-made things, listen to live music by street performers (honestly, they are so good!) or buy fresh fruits for a pound. The nice thing about small towns is that you can afford living in the centre for the same price you will be in the suburbs of a big city. Not even worth mentioning how cheaper the accommodation is further away from downtown. It takes me 10 minutes to get there by walking and I have never used the public transport so far - I see it quite often though, but everything is so close. And having a walk is always a pleasant moment in Canterbury - every time I start to explore I find new gardens or parks or just a bench with an amazing view to read a book in front of the Great River Stour while watching the wooden rowing boats passing by slowly with the guide telling local stories and secrets. It is such a lovely experience to live in a magical place like Canterbury!

Beautiful city with a Georgian style lay out. Huge variety of shops for all types of people and restaurants. Live music normally found in the town centre. Beautifully decorated at Christmas

Canterbury is a beautiful historic town with a variety of clubs and bars, a range of high street shops and lovely cafes - definitely recommend the chocolate cafe! There’s also great restaurants to eat out at, and punting down the river is a nice thing to do in the summer which also gives the opportunity to learn about the city’s history.

Canterbury is pretty good, the night life is varied depending on what you want, there is a wide variety of restaurants to choose from and the feel of the city is old and sweet. There are quite a few things to do such as Canterbury cathedral, river boat tours, the gardens and even a pool/snooker bar. There is something for everyone.

Absolutely beautiful city with the cathedral completely standing out no matter whereabouts you are. Every university building is within close walking distance. City surrounded by fields and super close to the beach! Would recommend to anyone

Canterbury is a really lovely city to study in, very clean, not too busy but not too quiet either. Transport is good and cheap to get around. Multiple pubs to go to, many of which offer vegan food options too. Lots of shops in the main town offer student discounts

Canterbury uni is in a great location that has an excellent centre with great restaurants and even better nights out! There is a lot on offer both in town and on behalf of the uni which means there's always something on offer and you are never boreed

Close to London. University campus is easy to access from Canterbury city centre as well as town of Whitstable. Many places in town for nights out and good places to eat. Campus has beautiful view and is of good size.

Great places for shopping, main high street has a lot on it. Supermarkets are fine and easy to get too. Lots of places to drink and eat. Not much in terms of nights out, clubs are pretty poor.

Fantastic assortment of food but trains can be expensive due to the location. Nights out have plenty of variation to fit your taste as well as having a friendly environment for all.

Canterbury is really safe at night. There are three clubs to go to: club chemistry, Steinbeck and Shaw and the Cuban. As well as this there are over 200 pubs to choose from. There are a wide variety of cultures to try. The shopping is great. The tourist attractions are a must including the famous Canterbury cathedral

There is a wide range of shops and restaurants and also a cinema. The Cathedral and Canterbury Tales are great to visit and amazing landmarks of Canterbury. There are many smaller unique shops found along paths leading from the high street. You can also find great cafes providing amazing breakfasts and lunches.

Yeah its decent tbf. Theres a lot to do if you're looking around for something to do. The town is nice and historical if you're into it otherwise there are plenty of modern shops and modern activities.

The city itself has a lot of shops and clubs. As I do not originally come from here I think it’s a really lovely city.

A little dull, not much to do. Everything is also quite expensive and pretty far from campus. But campus bars are good

Loads of places to go both day and night, something happening everyday - quick to get to shopping centre and to uni (although the hill is annoying). Tons of variety, but the buses are expensive.

Canterbury is an amazing city! It's location couldn't be any better; about an hour to London by train, but also less than twenty minutes from the beach. The city is filled with pubs and every shop imaginable - Canterbury is the city for you!
