What I like about Canterbury is the medieval landmarks, the cathedral, Tudor style houses, the variety of shops and restaurants. I ate out at pizza express with a view of the Marlowe theatre and the river stour, where you can see punting tours. I think Canterbury is a beautiful town and it’s not far from where I live.

Canterbury is a beautiful tiny city with much history to see as you explore down the cobbled streets. Visiting the Cathedral is a must. There’s easy links to London (Stratford International is only 40 minutes from Canterbury West station) as well as pretty seaside towns such as Margate and Broadstairs. If you’re looking for crazy nights out Canterbury doesn’t have these weekly but we do have many events throughout the year and I’ve seen plenty of my favourite DJs since being here for university. For eating out and shopping, Canterbury high street has many places down its high street. Punting down the rivers is a must, the one at Westgate towers is best as you can be in your individual group and they let you take food, alcohol and you can smoke. They’re are many amazing independent restaurants and cafes which are a must try such as Korean Cowgirl, A La Turka, Refectory Kitchen and Cafe des Amis. If you’re looking to visit a place where it is easy to always find something to do then Canterbury might not be for you but if you’re happy with walking through an picturesque city everytime you step outside with pretty parks and streets with close links to London and beaches then do visit.

Nice town to live and work in. Lovely studying environment, few good clubs, close to other nice places like bluewater or Maidstone so all in all pretty decent

This city is Amazing. Canterbury has a very great variety of restaurants for all kinds of taste. If you like burgers then you'll a great range of choices all over town. If you are on a diet but still want to eat out don't worry Canterbury can make you happy and not fat. Not only the food is great, but we also have so many historical places to visit, Canterbury Cathedral is one of the most famous places in Kent. On sunny days you could go for a walk or a run in one of Canterbury's various park. Tired of studying in your room? that's fine you can go study or relax in cosy cafés order a hot coffee and slice of cake and you are good.

Canterbury is a beautiful town with many places to visit and enjoy yourself. It is a place for family holidays and a great place to study especially because of the numerous restaurants that won't disappoint you most of time. If you like gourmet burgers Canterbury has various places you can go to vary. Also, in town the nightlife is amazing The loft bar or the Ballroom are the places to be on a Friday night.

Canterbury is a lovely city, great options for food and shopping in such a small area, everything is easy to find and there is a nice balance for small independent shops and large chains. the nightlife is decent although there is little variety, and the city can be expensive

Canterbury has a good selection of places to go on nights out, including the Cuban, Chemistry and also clubs and bars on campus, with a good mixture of people around the same age group. The shopping is really good as there is a big Asda and a big Sainsbury's, as well as Lidl and Aldi and a small Sainsbury's and Tesco's. However, the bus fares keep increasing. It is cheaper to get a bus pass for the whole year but paying for the bus every day can add up. The buses usually run quite often and through the night, but they can differ. It would be better if there were more choices of places to eat out and the local places can be quite expensive.

The old town is a nice place to go if you want a chilled night out or a meal with a couple of mates but when you go into the centre of town the atmosphere is a lot more upbeat and there's a lot of choice for food drink and clubs. Shopping facilities are amazing.

Canterbury has a variety of different shops bars and night clubs including the infamous club chemistry. Every year they hold the Canterbury festival which has events from exotic dancers to musical groups and everything in between. Just asked them about a Gnu! Plenty of places to eat including nandos and pizza hut.

It's a great student place. Loads of clubs, A 3-story Primark, the unibus will take you between town and UKC. Everything in town is within walkable distance. As well as that there's a lot of old-fashioned English heritage too - cobbled streets and old buildings!

Place is great for just about everything except for the amount I have to pay at shops. These are places like Tesco, Waitrose, Cafe Nero, you name it.

The town is quite lively during the day, full of street musicians, and tends to have market stalls one day during the week. There are lots of restaurants to choose from, clothes, and charity shops. It has atms, so withdrawing money is highly convenient. There is a free museum which is highly enjoyable. They are a few pubs and a popular club called Cuban which has a nice atmosphere. The bus station is situated in a good location, transport is easy to access.

Brilliant clubs for nights out. So many places to choose to eat at with high quality food and drink available. Al are reasonably close and easily accessible. Good transport links with reasonable prices. The town is genuinely very tidy and clean and people are typically polite. Good entertainment available such as cinema and theatre. Lots of good high end shops always open.

Not great night life, shopping is decent. City is small so run out of things to do quickly. But nice surroundings.

Large selection of restaurants, very pretty and more than enough to do. Can get well priced outings if you know what to look for :) Farmers market on wednesdays is great too. Alarming amount of homeless people on the high street which is sad, the rent is also fairly high in this area too which is annoying. Buses are okay priced but still a little pricey if youre used to london fares. They're also quite punctual. Large selection of after hours activities - there's even a fully vegan pub.

I love Canterbury with its ancient history and remarkable architecture. Then there's the lovely town centre with so many beautiful shops down the cobblestone streets and lots of tiny unique cafes to grab a coffee or bite to eat. The night life is great and there is always things to do so you never get bored!! Furthermore it's relatively cheap !!

Canterbury is a small but lovely city. It has a vast array of nightlife destinations and great transport links, beneficial for students to get around the city easily.

Very quiet pleasant town, filled with many activities to do. There are around 5 night clubs (inc the one on the Kent campus)

Canterbury is a very scenic city, a lot of it is very historic. It has the famous cathedral which is at the center of the city open to the public as well as being used for graduation ceremonies for the University of Kent and Canterbury Christchurch. There are a lot of restaurants and nice pubs around the city center with different types of foods from mexican to asian to the typical pub food with all affordable prices with some doing student discounts as well. The shopping center also has many well known shops like Zara, H&M, Next and Fenwick. There are also many green spaces like one behind whitefriars shopping center where food festivals and music events are held occasionally.
