Parham Road Student Village

I lived in the “urban student life” buildings as I applied for residence really late. I found that the rooms and the actual buildings were lovely - spacious enough & with a double bed (although it wasn’t particularly comfortable, as I prefer softer beds than what was included). The room had enough shelf space to keep all my belongings & the ensuite included a shower with great water pressure and easily adjustable temperature controls. The only downside I found was that it wasn’t particularly social, as everyone’s room was very separate (similar to hotel rooms) with only a shared kitchen. It meant I never really saw my housemates so never got the chance to bond with them the same way students in other halls did. The location is also a slight down side, as parham road is about a 20 minute walk to CCCU, and even more of a trek to get to the library. It is, however, situated right next to a 24 hour Asda superstore which is perfect for shopping on a student budget!

Loved being a walk away from the university, gave some separation between where you live and where you work. Being in the centre of town all the time would be too much, and it felt cosier being in a village rather than the fourth floor of a flat. There are good transport links and conveniently located near ADSA and a retail park, leisure centre and parks. Great if you wish to park or ride a bike.

The accomadation is a 10/15 minute walk from the uni campus, and a 20/25 minute walk from the city centre. It’s located a two minute walk from an Asda superstore which was super helpful! The accommodation itself is fairly clean, having a washing machine within the flat was also great. The accommodation staff was also very friendly and helpful.

Walls thin as paper, love hearing my roommate wank over anime whilst wearing a VR system, but if you're into that I would rate 5... For this reason, I rated 4, to improve, insert a window so I can see him instead of just listening. Allahu Akbar.

When first moved in the flat was filthy even though it said it had been cleaned. However the security was excellent on site was excellent throughout

Absolutely love my time in Parham, the kitchen is rubbish for 7 people and the room are slightly lacking in comfort so for the price you're paying its not amazing but all of that is outweighed by the shear joy of hanging and partying with my housemates! So much shenanigans and good feeling, best time of my life!
