Bristol is a vibrant city full of street art and independent culture. It's got great night life with a large d&b scene but also a huge variety of music from funk&soul to baseline to pop. There's two decent size shopping areas with a big variety of shops and plenty of restaurants and bars. One thing that lets Bristol down is the public transport, expect your journey to take double the time the first bus app tells you it will take and expect at least one of your busses to be delayed or cancelled daily. Although Bristol markets itself as a cycling town I would say that the majority of the roads are not actually very bike safe. Also the design of the cycle lanes is ridulous, they are on the pavements and aren't painted a different colour or made easily distinguishable from the pedestrian area in any way, meaning people step in front of bikes daily. Apart from the transport issues, Bristol is a wonderful fun place, big enough to stay interesting, small enough to feel like home very quickly.

A beautiful town with lots of attractions and events going on all year round. Popular shopping mall: cribbs causeway and Cabot circus are definite go to.

Strong variety of food and entertainment. Can eat from different parts of the world everyday! So many veggie and vegan options also! Most of the food is reasonably priced however drinks are very expensive. Music scene is buzzing, every night there is something different. Great opportunities for up and coming artists with an abundance of open mic nights. Buses are over priced for students however they are frequent and mostly reliable.

Great place to live, really unique! Plenty of restaurant, my favourite being zar zar. Lots of choices for vegans. Just be careful where about a in Bristol you go as St. Paul's and Gloucester Road are known to be quite rough. Other than that I love Bristol!!!

Brilliant Bristol brings culture, great experiences and everything you need in one city. From the harbour, to the shopping centres and pubs and spas. Plenty of transport including Uber's, and good patrol of the city so you feel safe. Would recommend a visit to anyone looking for a great day out or a new adventure :)

Bristol is an overall great city with a variety of clubs for everyone, and a good offering of good and shopping (especially with newer shops popping up at the Cabot Circus, the main shopping centre). Food wise - there's a good choice around, but some Asian cuisines are notably either hard to find, or sub-par. Props to Kansai Kitchen as the best Japanese food in Bristol, but an overall poor showing of Japanese or Korean food in Bristol. Transport is unfortunately quite spotty, with traffic and slow changing of drivers in the city centre. Going to 'further out' areas in Bristol by public transport can take more than double the amount of time it would take by car. Bristol is not by any means a cheap city, but is definitely not London-level expensive! Eating out is always going to be more expensive than in, but there's a range of food and activities in Bristol for a decent price.

Lovely and lively place to live. Lots of interesting things to do, and activities that appeal to a variety of people. Bristol is a very quirky place to live and has a cool music and art scene. The city centre is big and has a wide range of big name shops as well as locally owned ones.

Everything is good, despite the city is small I find it equipped with full range of necessities. The transport is great as if cover quite a lot of places but sometimes it annoys me that the public buses would be cancelled at last minute especially during night time which I find it quite disappointing. Aside from the public transportation I like the vibe of the city. Eating out is one of the good choice as student discounts are most of the time available for claim. If not ordering food online is also quite convenient as the delivery service are effective, overall.

Bristol is the encapsulation of the meaning of diversity. It is a multi-cultured city without any doubts, partially due to the presence of two universities, which means more international people coming to it. Moreover, there's a lot of freedom in the sense that you can really express yourself, your style and the way you think, which is great. More generally speaking, it is a calm city. The community itself is pretty friendly. It is obviously smaller than cities as London, but still it offers a lot I would say especially if you are looking for careers in IT and finance. When it comes to shopping and necessities, it is pretty centralised I think. If you need something, you have to go to the centre necessarily or order online. When it comes to entertainment , it's pretty interesting as a city, you can always find something to do, there are always events and markets going on during the whole week. As regards the nightlife, you can a wide variety of pubs and clubs, some cheaper than others. Most of them are really good for a night out with friends. And when it comes to food, you have the embarrassment of choosing from different restaurants with different cuisines. In case you are craving more than one cosmo and za za bazaar are the place for you. Last point, the transport in the city though is really bad, always late and never punctual.

Vibrant and student friendly city. Less crowded than London. If you like some greenery then this is the place to be. Lovely attractions such as the harbourside and the suspension bridge. Cute little cafes to have a nice breakfast or brunch. Prices are reasonably fair on nights out or in restaurants.

Bristol definitely has the food section covered. There are loads of places to dine and have coffee. Something for everyone. Nights out in Bristol are good too. Loads of bars to have drinks at! The music scene at the clubs tends to mostly be rave/house music. Everyone now and then they have dancehall/bashment/reggaeton nights but they are rare. Most clubs have a r&b room which ends up playing top 40 music 3hrs in so that's a bit disappointing. The outskirts of Bristol i.e Filton don't have as many restaurants of delivery options for takeout available despite having a university there. Overall Bristol is great but there's always room for improvement.

I am an Erasmus student living in Bristol and it has been by far a great choice. It's a vibrant and super artistic city. You can't get bored in here because there are tons of things to do : concerts, art exhibitions, theme parties, cool cafes, vintage stores...And when the sun is out, omg, that's another level!!

Bristol is a diverse and vibrant city. It is a brilliant city that caters well for students from the investment into new student accommodation to the variety of clubs such as Motion which is the 16th best in the world. The biggest shortfalls of Bristol are the extortionate prices for private rent, the unreliability of public transport and the traffic congestion, particularly in the city centre and on the M32 in and out of Bristol.

I was initially reluctant to live in Bristol, having hoped to move to London. Having been here for just under 2 months now, I love it here. Cabot circus has loads of shops, notably pull and bear and monki, offering student-friendly clothing prices whilst being in fashion. Bristol night life is also good fun - having not been out before moving here, I've been to Thekla, Omg, Lizard lounge and mbargo so far and they are all very diverse, so there's something for everyone! Also the spoons' are all great - sometimes does take a while to get served but the staff do work hard. Cribbs causeway is also good for shopping and food - there is something for everyone. There is so much more of Bristol for me to explore, but going to see the Clifton suspension bridge has been a highlight so far! Theres so much going on here, I don't feel like I'm missing out on London life as I think Bristol is up and coming!! (Also uber is a huge perk of living here - super quick and efficient, and reasonably priced!) ((Busses can be hit and miss, sometimes just decide not to turn up - I have also been charged adult rather than student on more than one occasion when I'd had a couple drinks - when with showing a student ID))

Very vibrant city with amazing nightlife - something for everyone. Never really feel unsafe on a night out. Lots of historical sites, banksy, beautiful buildings etc Good shopping available with Cabot circus providing a wide range of shops. Good selection of restaurants with various options - plenty of vegetarian and vegan places. Downside is that there are lots of homeless people, and not much seems to be done to help them. It is also an expensive city to live in.

Bristol quickly felt like home when I moved to the city from the countryside. It is a real hodgepodge of places, ensuring there's a little bit of something for everyone. Just a few miles out, over the suspension bridge are the lush green spaces of leigh woods, stokes croft offers a wealth of alternative culture and art, park street a long uphill slog punctuated by fun independent shops. The food on offer is delicious and varied, and a student budget can be easily managed by being spent at the small greengrocers or asian-marts. In terms of nightlife, there's something for everyone again - whether cheesy pop music at SWX or the triangle, a good LGBT+ nightout at queenshilling or the offerings of something with a decent bassline at blue mountain.

Bristol is well known for its bustling nightlife and it honestly lives up to that its expectations. From a quite pint at the pub to dancing your socks off at one of wide variety of nightclubs. My favourite part about Bristol is the food! At the centre of Bristol is St Nicholas Market whilst it’s known for selling various nick nacks and trinkets, the food hall is highly underrated. Finding a hot meal that’s under £10 can’t be hard in busy city but St Nicks won’t disappoint.

Bristol is a great student city for students. It has two big universities and its a great city for university life. There is many student-related events and opportunities for students around the city all year. It is easy to find student accommodations around the city in any specific area. Nightlife is great and offers something for everyone.

I've loved my time living in Bristol, it's an amazingly diverse city where there's always something exciting going on and somewhere new to explore. As a rock climber it's also amazing to have the Avon gorge right in the city too. The traffic is awful so buy a bike!
