Not great value for money but a good location and rooms are a very good size! Social scene was okay, there were formals at Christmas, Easter and Summer which were very fun and very well organised.

Great location for lectures and nights out. En suite which is a bonus but pay a lot for what you get- other residences pay the same for far more. Old and a lot of issues with WiFi. Not that sociable.

location is probs the best out of all the residences , you're close to clubs and shops on the triangle and walking distance from cabot without being right in the centre. expect to have problems with the wifi and if you live on the ground floor you probs won't have much signal. common room has a pool table and some chairs. the tv works apparently, also have a printer. rooms are a good size but the ensuite smells like rotten egg a good 60% of the time. kitchens are massive for seven people so perfect for hosting pres. all in all a decent second choice but there are nicer places around (new bridewell is peng)

Winkworth House is the oldest halls among all. Some of the hardwares are not functioning so well, for example the water drainage in the shower is slow, sockets go out of circuit quite easily. Lucky that the maintanence team respond very quickly. Location wise it's relatively closer to school than other halls in the center, but by the same token it's further away from shops and supermarkets. The college green (a path you must go through getting to winkworth) is quite dark at night and it gets a bit creepy. We don't have good soundproof doors so in case your flatmates party all night long you probably won't be able to sleep. Nonetheless, it does feels more homey that the other halls of residences. The room itself is fine, the desk is very large so you've got loads of working space. Bed is single sized. Not quite enough Cupboards for storage though. One point worth noting is the WiFi breaks down quite frequently, and 4G signal here is poor so if that happens, you'd have to go to the library.

The location is arguably the best of any residence. It's a 5 minute walk from the Wills building, and within walking distance of most clubs (motion will require an uber though). The location is Winkworth's only redeeming quality, and even this will be made obsolete as soon as Brunel house finishes construction right next to it. The wifi is slow. The common room is a joke, probably because it belongs to among the smallest residences. The rooms are awful, unless you enjoy the bathroom shower/ shitter combo. The washing machines never work, and they're kept in an unfurnished dungeon of a basement. There is no reception for deliveries, so... good luck with that. The building mamagers will try to fine you for literally anything (£50 if you leave a bluetack scuff on the paint!). Above all though, it is the worst value for money, hands down.

The Deputy Warden is a hero and the Senior Residents are great. Location so close to the center and easy access to the University. Support through the year is excellent and really enjoyed the Winter Ball put on by the reps.
