First of all, Brighton is a wonderful place to live; especially for students. Nightlife offers a wide range of options for all ages and interests, and there is always a nice place to explore and try out. When it comes to food, there is also a wide range. From vegan places to the cheapest food after a long night out; theres always options whatever your price range, but it’s definitely easier to find places to drink rather to eat. Depending on whereabouts you are in Brighton, depends on what time of shops you’ll find. From highstreets brands to back alley smaller ‘edgy’ shops. From going down the seaside to visiting the marina, there is always options for families, couples or students. Value for money depends on where you go. Living here, it can be expensive, visiting can be expensive, it just depends what youre looking for and how much youre willing to spend. Being such a tourist driven city that relies on its students means that they can charge a little more or some things while other sections are great balue for money. Brighton is known for it’s free spirited people and a range of people with all different interests. People don’t follow the group and Brighton caters to that.

Good range of clubs to go to all with different atmosphere. There’s loads of places to eat at the marina, the laines and in town in general. There is certainly a lot of things to do in the summer, and the beach and pier is always a nice day out! In the summer there is always something going on such as festivals like pride or colour run!

Brighton is an amazing place to live never never short of things to do literally drinking establishments open near enough 24hours depending on what you are into. The only disappointment was that quite afew people do not get halls in their first year and are forced to find a house of strangers to share with, if you are lucky (most people are) they end up becoming your best friends. Location wise it is so great, easy transport links and can walk or cycle nearly everywhere neighbouring towns are a short train away. I love it in the summer feels like you are on holiday. I’m finishing up uni now being in my last year and have seriously considering moving down here well I plan to in be future once I’ve saved up some dollar bills because that is the only major down fall..... it’s expensive think Baby London

The location of the uni is great. It's out of town so you're not stuck with all the people in the city centre. There are great transport links around the city. There are many shops and there's always people about. The only downside is the travelling between campuses and Brighton is a multi campus university.

It is very nice to have the sea and the large pier with lots going on. Pier is quite expensive though. Lots of restaurants and quirky bars in hidden places. Some good clubs too.

Loads to do. Always some event going on. Loads of diffferent shops. Brighton is huge with lots to do. There is something for everyone has Brighton has a lot of mainstream clubs as well as more 'edgy'clubs for those who arent to keen on rave or dance music. Food is the same loads of standard places to eat but also specialty vegan and vegetarian places. Has something for everyone

Brighton is one of the most diverse cities in the United Kingdom. From night life,to food to shopping to the people that walk amongst it you will never not notice something new. There are small quaint pubs on near enough every street, who’s interior and bar range offer a new experience each time. The clubs in Brighton are incredible, you can go to a club and listen to anything from Hip - Hip/R&B to Jazz,Bashment and Drum and Bass you name it they will play in one venue or another. Some many amazing student deals to be found! The shopping on a whole is crazy, there are so many small independent shops and restariaunts you can find amazing cultured foods and pretty little window displays. If your wanting more of a shopping spree look no further than the Churchill square and the Lanes (North and South). All food requirements are catered for wether you and veggie,Vegan or Gluten intolerant etc. If your wanting things to do during the day there is a cool reptile shop in Kemp Town, the pier which you can spend hours at,the beach of course whether it is good or bad weather. There is the pavilion gardens and many small museums and live music always going on somewhere whether it be in the street or in a venue. There is also the Marina which has bowling and the Cinema which is always a good shoutfor a day out.

The nightlife is amazing. There is always at least one club open each night. Brighton is so welcoming and live. There’s plenty of clubs at the seafront. If anyone likes retro shopping there are plenty of markets and small cute cafès. During the day you can sit by the beach. During the night you can socialize either at great bars or restaurants. Although taxis are expensive, you get bus journeys day and night ticket for 3.50 and you can use the bus as many times as you want until 4:30am. Brighton is a small city, but full of life. It is spiritual and welcomes anyone from anywhere. Another great thing about brighton is the fact that there are two universities and therefore makes nights out even more student friendly. In terms of food, there are many places to explore, for various food eaters, from meat to vegan. Overall, there are some negatives in terms of accommodation costs as I find it is very pricey.

Clubs on the seafront are very good and the marina has a lot of decent places to eat and things to do. Night trains back are sometimes poorly timed if you commute so plan ahead.

Great for nights out; lots of bigger places and also little bars and smaller clubs with great live music. Every shop under the sun! Only thing is can be quite expensive because of the tourism but if you explore enough there’s lots of tiny hidden gems.

Brighton is an amazing student location with loads of really great big clubs, and also quaint little clubs and bars with great live music. There is every shop under the sun and lots of boutique places and markets to explore. It is quite expensive because of the tourism bringing prices up, but if you live there you can find cheap little places that become your favourite spots! Only thing is that I wish University of Sussex was closer to the big city so it was easier to get into from halls! Apart from that it’s an amazing student city.

There's so much to do and it's all pretty close by. being able to escape to the South downs and go walking or cycle to the beach is great. Public transport and living costs are pretty high but there's a lot you can do for free if you have a bike so it balances out.

Night life is really good but price of living cost is high, for houses that are not even worth the price they come at. Shopping is good however always busy! Lots of things to do in Brighton

Amazing seaside to visit, lots of nightclubs and things to do. Some things can be a bit pricey but its hard to get bored in a city with so many festivals and events like Pride and Brighton Fringe!

Huge shopping centre in the centre town, beach right next door. also have a cinema, great clubs for a night out! Transport is amazing with buses working till 3:30 in the morning!

Brighton, one of the greatest gems of the entire United Kingdom. Many refer to the eccentric town as London by the sea and it fits perfectly. Imagine the nightlife, shopping and individuality you find in Central London, now deduct the biggots, add a great community and a beautiful scenic town with not nearly as much litteror polution and you have yourself Brighton. Transport is simple with very constant busses that go pretty much all over Brighton and if you live in the center travel can be done pretty much by foot everywhere.

Decent nightlife, but very expensive. The city itself is great, although there is a lack of respect towards students

Transport links are great and easy to get anywhere. Everything from shops to clubs are easy to get to.

Brighton is an ideal location for university. It has something for everyone. If you enjoy the countryside then you have the south downs, you have the sea right on your doorstep and if you prefer the bigger cities London is only an hour away. Plus the city of Brighton has plenty to do with lots of people choosing to stay here after uni

Great to be by the sea. Especially in the summer. Busy town vastly populated by students, but most people are still really friendly.

Nice place for students who like to go out both at night and day. There is always something to do. There also lots of shops to go and spend your student loan on. Major problem is that Brighton is so expensive when it comes to getting a takeaway.

In Brighton it's easy to get from one place to another any time of day and night thanks to the constant running of buses. The town is also open till 7pm allowing you to do some late shopping if you're in class or work all day. The nightlife is spread throughout town and the seafront and is normally open till 7am giving you a full night of partying.
