Nights out are good there is a lot of unique bars slightly different from your average night out. There are so many cafes, and brilliant if you are into your eating and vegan etc! Caters for all!

Incredibly diverse and eccentric city full of likeminded liberal people. Great transport links, bars and shopping. Always something to do whether it be going to the beach, gigs or art events.

Brighton is an incredible city and you can never get bored of it. Whether you like big clubs or quiet like bars, Brighton has it all. There are student nights on every night of the week so you can always afford it and the public transport and night busses are great. The beach is a pebble beach so it’s perfect for a stroll or to eat lunch on daily without having to stress about how you are going to get rid of all the sand. The city itself is Green Party ran so it’s eco friendly initiatives are really refreshing. The only reasons that I can’t give Brighton 5 stars is 3 small reasons. 1 - brighton uni doesn’t have an SU. 2 - trying to drive around Brighton is a nightmare, however like I said the public transport is great anyway. 3 - the closest big shopping centre is an hours drive away. Brighton has lots of shops and independent stores but for a student looking for a cheap outfit, it’s not the best.

Brighton is a really pretty city, it has something to do for absolutely everyone - there’s shops, cafes, restaurants etc everywhere, and there’s always somewhere to go out whether the nightlife you prefer is more mainstream clubs, classic pubs or underground bars. The pier is also fun for a touristy day out, and the beach is a great place to chill. The only downside is that it’s quite pricey

Scenery is lovely, one of the more expensive student cities in the UK in terms of rent/bills/transport. Everyone is quite friendly. Brighton nightlife is quite good, as a POC there are only about 2/3 clubs that attract POC.

Brighton town is full of hundreds of different places and people that all make up the town. Lived here for nearly 2 years now whilst at uni and met many people from the town who are all so different. There’s so many clubs, bars and pubs to choose from here too, all providing different experience. The living cost is doable if you look in the right place and don’t let someone rip you off too.

Brighton nightlife is diverse. Great music venues. Shopping is great all the classic high street stores & some amazing independent stores in Brighton. Night buses are regular. Not much cheaper than London to live in though !

Plenty shops, cinema, museums, swimming pools, clubs and trains/buses connecting you to Brighton and to Falmer where Brighton/Sussex campuses are.

Honestly, getting my second university choice was like a gift from God. Brighton so far, has been an amazing new addition to my life journey, and I am hoping discover more adventures with this happy city even more! You've got the sun, sea, nightlife, wildlife and greenery! Even more, there is gay pride, veganism thriving and a multitude of festives and music! For the university itself, Sussex is situated nearby Stanmer Park full of deep flourishing woodlands, luscious rolling pastures and agricultural land that seems to blossom come by Spring. Not only this, but huge events and happenings occur only metres away from the University, which are hosted by the Amex stadium, as well as being close to accessible public transport to get in and around the city of Brighton. As for the community, everyone I have met thus far have been an absolute dream. I for one just love it here.

Brighton is a great place to live but you do have to count on spending more money towards living because it isn’t the cheapest place to live. I believe that Brighton is one of the best places to go out, any night you would want to go out there is always someplace to go and drinks are that much cheaper on student nights out. I love going to the haunt, pryzm, patterns (donuts), revenge, shoosh, the arch and many more places. There is a place for everyone to go and they over great deals for when buying tickets or being put on guest list for cheaper entry. I have also to quite a few pubs and bars, there good vibes only. The food in Brighton is great, there is loads of choice. Some places are cheaper than other places and some places are fancier and more expensive but any place you go to is great. In Brighton there is always something to do, so no need to worry about getting bored during the weekend.

Although extremely expensive, being in Brighton gives you the perfect balance of city, seaside and country with Devils Dyke, the Lanes and beach just a cheap bus ride away. The city is always busy, full of music, art and culture which is perfect for the Performing Arts degree I am taking.

Brighton is a great city to go to university in. There are loads of cool bars and cafes as well as nights out. The lanes are always great for browsing, even if you’re not buying. And of course, there’s a beach!

Brighton has pretty much everything you could ask for but it comes at a (literal) price. Pubs and rent are basically the same as London, but the buses are horrifically expensive. Luckily you can walk most places and there are plenty of cheap student nights. Nightlife caters to everyone's tastes. So many cultural activities and events, festivals throughout the year, and such a diverse mix of people to meet. Easy access to some beautiful walks in the South Downs and lots of beautiful architecture. Incredible shops. So much amazing food. Everything tempts you to blow your student loan.

The Falmer campus is really close to the centre of Brighton. The town is full of coffee shops to study in and night clubs.

Brighton is a great city to be a student. It has a variety of nightlife, restaurants and of course, the beach! I did find that rent in Brighton was a lot compared to what my friends in other cities were paying, but I enjoyed the experience. There are lots of things to do in Brighton, including the fringe festival in the summer. There are lots of free events so definitely worth a visit!

Brighton is an amazing city with an array of shops, pubs, restaurants, cafes bars.. not to mention the beach. It is quite expensive to live here, so to enjoy all there is to offer, a part time job is often needed.

A night out is crazy in brighton because the town os designed for students which also has a chilled out atmosphere. Lots of culture as well as a pub on pretty much every road. Idk how any of them make money with so many of them. Not too many shops but theres churchill square and its pretty expensive to live there for such a hipster / decaying town but god for uni. Oh and bus drivers are the biggest douchebags ever idk why theyre so angry all the time.

Great location, within walking, driving and bus route distance. Close to the town centre and beach, meaning you have everything right there! Fun for all ages, clubs, pubs, tours, cinemas, literally everything!

I love living in Brighton: from meeting a wide array of people, chilling on the beach (despite the pebbles, which you get used to) and walking behind the uni to the Downs. There's a lot for students to do, depending on your interests.

Brighton is great ! The night life is always fun whether you go to the same club everytime or you hop into one of the many hundreds around the city. During the day the city is just as exciting with the lanes offering traditional setting and many vegan cuisines to try! Although Brighton is kinda expensive like literally comparable to London.. as a student you can make it work and it is so worth it/ plus both the Unis are 30 minutes from the city Centre so you're never too far from anything

I love living in Brighton it's so diverse and different and accepting. I love yes there are problems like the proosturious expense of student living, and agency's will take advantage, and and night out aren't cheap if you don't know where to go. Like most cities there is an underlying drug problem, with many people I know, the majority have taken something of class A and Byron whilst experiencing the 'culture'. But the overall atmosphere of the city is a bubble of vibrancy and fun. there's lots to do it night and day, but you just need to go out and explore. You can plenty of good food dives. I would say Brighton isn't for everyone. I if you have strong right wing opinions and are not opposed to change, you don't come. You can if you are easily seated and peer pressured and fall into the wrong crowd, you can maybe study somewhere else. You can but for those adventures and level headed minds who won't be sucked into the not so nice side the city, and you will absolutely love it. Obviously this is an option piece, but but I've tried to be as honest as I can. And of course, so the sea side is beautiful and and a massive bonus.

Brighton is a fantastic city, especially if you are coming here as a student. There are over 600 pubs and bars so you’ll never be left without somewhere to go for a drink or grab a roast on a Sunday. You’re also only minutes away from the beach where you can bbq to your hearts content in the summer, enjoy food and drink on the promenade and if you hang around long enough you’ll be sure to catch the nightlife too. Brighton’s nightlife has a little something for everyone, whether you like indie, rock, house, trap, pop or metal - brighton will have a club night to your taste. The best nights out in Brighton has to be the gay bars and clubs near Kemp town - great 90s and noughties classics, cheap drinks, loads of colour, and you’ll never have a dull evening. If you’re not a clubber, brighton has some of the best food in the UK. Head to the Laines to explore cafe after cafe of delicious food - veggie? No problem. Vegan? No worries. Gluten free? There are bakeries who produce the best GF bread just for you. Alongside the independent cafes and bars, brighton has all the high street stuff you may miss from your local town - Pizza Express, Wagas, Starbucks... and a full blown shopping centre filled with high street brands. If you’re looking to be money-savvy at uni, brighton may not be the one for you. Although it’s possible to only survive on pasta (i’ve tried!) - brighton is one of the priciest cities in the UK. You’re probably looking close to London prices for a lot of luxuries, but within the London wages. Make sure you find cheap eats if you’re going to want brunch every other weekend, and make the most of student discounts. Aldi on London road is also a life saver and can provide you with a weeks shopping (including booze) for about £20! Overall, brighton is a wonderful place to come to uni. It is a positive, free thinking city filled with the weird and the wonderful - your friends WILL come and visit you, the nightlife is great and there aren’t many places in the UK where you can watch drag shows by the pier!

Hilly but don't let that put you off. There's so much to see and do here and even if you so get bored, then there's always the beach. We've just been voted the number one city for hipsters too; what's not to love?
