Birmingham night life is very varied, Broad street is the main strip which holds the most stereotypical clubs such as Pryzm, Popwolrd and others alike. However, the best clubs in Birmingham are either in Digbeth or Snobs which is located near the bullring. The venues in digbeth offer a whole range of different nights out and are really student friendly. Shopping is great in Birmingham, the bullring is modern and large, grand central holds various shops and restaurants alongside being a really easy train station.

Birmingham is a great city if you know where to go, the city centre isn’t huge but has some really nice surburbs near by that offer wild life, parks and country style pubs. The canals offer a nice opportunity to walk, Brindleyplace being one of the best places for food, nightlife and casual daytime exploring. The bullring is the heart of shopping in Birmingham, also now with grand central being a great opportunity to shop. Digbeth holds the best night out venues, alongside vintage shops, cinemas and the O2 instsitue. I really recommend Mosley as a great area for chilled evenings, or music nights!

Birmingham is the second biggest city in the UK so i had high expectations. The uni is a train or bus or 5 pound uber away, which is nice to not be in the busy city but is still close enough, although it would be nicer for nights out if it was a walk away. The city itself is rammed with shops and restaraunts, everything you want is there. The nightlife is good too, with most of the clubs on the same streeet.

The accommodation is very old fashioned, it’s in an unpleasant area of Birmingham. Other than this it is accessible for things such as shopping and travel. Nights out are not so accessible

The city by it self is ok. Usually is windy and cloudy, probably same in other parts of UK. Birmongham offer great amount of places for night out, there is always something open during the week.

I love the location of Birmingham. Everything is so close to student living, the clubs are a 5 minute drive away and shops only a train stop away or 10 minute drive. There are loads of shops and restaurants so plenty of variety.

Birmingham is the ultimate student city. Nights out are one of the best you will ever get in the country. However, they can be fairly expensive, with taxi fares, actual tickets and price of drinks. Bullring is the hotspot for shopping and it has every brand you can think of, from high street to high end shops. Grand Central and The Mailbox have a selection of restaurants which offer a wide range of cuisines, that you should try. The city has good dessert places as well as takeaways. If you are a health concious student and want to burn calories from those cheesy chips after a night out, there are also plenty of Gyms in the city like PureGym, EasyGym and TheGymGroup. There are great job opportunities for students too. So if you are looking to move out of your home, to an affordable and diverse city with a good nightlife, Birmingham is the place to be!

Living in Birmingham has been great ever since i moved. There's a wide variety of food available in the city centre and around my accommodation which is in Mosley. The transportation facilities are great and take me anywhere i want. Birmimgham is very inexpensive compared to other cities in the UK which is great as im an international student.

Cheap students nights out, cinema in city centre I'd old but the one in five ways is decent. There are plenty of food options in city centre but disappointed that there was no KFC to be found

Being in a university so close to Birmingham City centre is amazing because everything is just a walk away. There are student nights in the week which include cheap drinks and a choice of cheap places to eat.

Great nightlife, location and everything! City has everything you need within minutes and the public transport is great the majority of the time!

As soon as I moved in I feel in love with Birmingham, I think it’s a beautiful city and there is lots to see and do. The night life is pretty good and now too expensive for a student as well. I don’t go out to eat or shopping very often because of money but when I have been it’s been very good and I’ve been quite impressed.

Loads of great, cheap places to eat and shop. Plenty of places for a night out like Pryzm and Snobs, but also some nice bars if you just want to go for quiet drinks/cocktails.

City centre campus is ideally located, a short walk away from main shops, a longer walk to main clubs although still could walk back although a lot more expensive than out of town locations and could be cheaper

Birmingham in general is good for students as it has a range of difrrent budget places for different people. It’s very culturally diverse ad has lots to do especially on nights out

I chose Birmingham because I'm originally a Londoner, and wanted the hustle bustle of a big city again. Birmingham is very different, but I love it. UOB has a train station literally on campus that leads directly to the bullring, and there is tons of nightlife on broad street, near five ways station. Not only that, but the uni itself is a campus uni which I LOVE. Everything is so sociable and close by, with Selly Oak pretty much being student dominated - great for local house parties (;

Second city is very good. Despite current developments resulting in diversions and cranes along the skyline, existing attractions, restaraunts and clubs are good

The place of Birmingham, is very nice. I am from London myself and does not seem very different which is good. The nightlife is great, so even if the student union of Aston University is not having a good event, Broad Street or Arcadian never fails to please! Shopping is also awesome, they have a Bullring (within walking distance) which is very convinent. They have all shops here, and their food places have recently started to be good with Las Igunas! Although, shopping for food for home is not the best, because the cheapest place would be Tesco Metro, and there is no big grocery shoppig place closeby - furthest is like 45 mins walk. So the value for money for weekly shopping is not great and can get pretty expensive. On the weekends, there is not much you can do within short distance. On the weekdays, theres always something happening, whether thats a Gosta night out or a cinema night with friends.

The city centre is small so doesn't have as much to offer as some other cities, there are only a couple of clubs that I go to because most play the same kind of music that doesn't interest me. The bullring and shopping areas are very busy so I avoid them. There are some great bars and music venues, I love the music scene in Birmingham.

Clubs on Broad Street are expensive and often overcrowded. Lots of other great, cheap places in Digbeth if you’re willing to go looking for them. Shopping is great as we have the Bullring, New Street and Grand Central.

Lots of bars and clubs in both central and outside of the city centre. Variety of music and genres of music to suit all. Shopping centres in city centre are suitable for both High Street and high-end purchases.

Birmingham is a very busy place. The nightlife is the best. There is a lot of opportunities for young people and people of all different ages. There is a lot of places to go shopping and range from different prices. There are a lot of restaurants for you to eat out independantly and eat as part as a group.
