Quite a small halls in regards to the amount of people compared to others but everything else is good. Big rooms, en suite, close to shops, etc.

The rooms themselves are very spacious and I have never had a problem with storage. The shower has a curtain not a door which is not ideal but the bathroom is functional and better than the wet rooms other Ensuite halls have. The kitchen is very nice but there is only one sink which can be an issue depending on your flatmates. The kitchen is a lovely social space as it is big enough to have people over and good for parties. However Jarrett hall is in Selly Oak which is 25 minutes from the vale so you will be further away from most other first years. The walk is not that bad but it is a factor to consider. Also 2 minutes away from Aldi which is ideal!

I feel very secure and my room is more spacious than expected. It's in a great location to access both edgbaston and Selly Oak campuses but would prefer somewhere with a reception area

Rooms, en-suite, and kitchen all fantastic. location is amazing in that it is very close to the university (5 min walk), and 2 mins from Aldi/tesco. downside is that is is very separate from the vale, which is considered the main student hub. Because of this it can feel quite isolating at times. However, I managed to make great friends in my accommodation regardless.

The halls were located 5 mins away from the uni main campus. They’d recently been renovated so the rooms were modern and clean. Whilst out of the main social bubble at the Vale, the location to uni was ideal in first year and meant rolling out of bed five mins before lectures started. It also meant that by the 2nd year when students moved into a house for 2nd year, you were acclimatised to selly oak and knew the best places to go. Overall a well located and busy uni.

My room was very dirty when I arrived, there were still coffee stains on the wall. A ridiculously high number of things were broken in tje flat when I moved in, all of which should've been noticed and fixed before we got there. Everything took either a few months to get fixed, or wasn't fixed at all.

The location is fantastic as you are right in the heart of Selly Oak, next to pubs and supermarkets! Lovely kitchens and nice en-suits!

Excellent location very close to the University, with pubs, restaraunts and Aldi within walking distance. Halls themselves are lovely, the annexe is particularly nice. Really good accommodation overall!

Selly Oak village probably made my master's year one of the best years of my life! Everything was good and I made amazing friends. Above all, the location was just great and made our lives so enjoyable: in a quiet street but near to everything (from supermarkets to pubs), and as close to the university as one can be. The flats seemed almost new; everything was in perfect shape and functioning. So nice!

Had an amazing experience in halls. Really close to the campus and near to train station for travel into town. The room was great with good on suite. Very good kitchen facilities. Some of the appliances were very old however and the freezer and oven both broke whilst I was there. Selly oak feels unsafe sometimes so the high level of security is very good. The social experience was great and the atmosphere of the whole place is overall really good.
