York was founded in 1963 on principles of advancement for all anchored by the highest standards of academic excellence. It is one of just a handful of universities less than 60 years old to have advanced so quickly into the World Top 100 league table. York believes passionately in research-informed teaching and in the application of its research for the benefit of people and society. The university has expanded into two campuses, Heslington West and Heslington East which are a short walk or 5 minute bus ride from each other.

Good sized campus with two campuses for 1st year. Accommodation is consistent at 7/10. I do economics bsc and the facilities are good with good feedback and support from seminar tutors and lectures. 6 exams in first year which is above the average but exams weren’t too hard for first year and gave a good idea for what the course will be in the future. Student union is active but personally has had little effect to me with individual university colleges events playing a greater role like Derwent end of term parties. My experience has been positive and I look forward to second year.
