Pretty good as they go - Southampton isn't a mind blowing city but there are some good bits, and the campus is quite nice, good sports facilities, and a cheap student pub.

Great university experience. got very immersed in sport and social scene that went with. Didn't involve much in course but what was offered was good.

Cutting edge tech university focused on engineering and any maritime degree. These two areas are greatly supported by the facilities existing on the uni's campuses. The lecture theatres aren't brilliant and I think they are short of big ones that are really needed. Excellent work from the career services as well as the international office. Student Union tries to be inclusive but it's a bit mainstream and its bases getting old. I am satisfied by my course and the excellent electronics labs that exist in my department and the organization is alright.

Lovely campus has lovely areas of greenery and pretty places to hide away, library is gorgeous and very big with great places to work. My course is fascinating and very varied on the spectrum of my subject which gives a very wide overview of the course and gives me variety.

The University is large, caters to everyone's social and academic needs and is a welcoming community. The facilities are varied and all up to par.My course is stimulating and challenging, the student union supportive and friendly, and the city the campus is located in is great

The campus is clean and tidy. Hartley library is a lovely building and I enjoy studying in there, however more study booths could be added.

The university campus is very attractive for any student; it has a huge variety of buildings and areas that range in asthetics. There are many on site cafes and places to eat. The university itself (highfield campus) is too far from my accommodation (20 minutes on the bus) which Students may want to consider as it can be a pain to access in the mornings with the bus service (unilink) not being the most reliable.

Amazing facilities, enthusiastic and a great course. Students union could be a bit more active and there are two disgusting buildings on campus

It's extremely beneficial having three separate campuses relating to different disciplines (Main, Humanities, Engineering). It fosters great ideas within groups of like-minded individuals. Each one comes with its own perks relating to the subjects contained on that campus.

Based on what I have experienced in my Biological Sciences course, I believe there is a lot that could be improved upon. It has to be said, the new Science Buildings are very good, however the organisation and the quality of some of the old buildings/lecture theatres can be pretty annoying. Also, whilst I appreciate that University is somewhere for you to spread your wings and fend for yourself, I do think more than 2hrs of personal tutorial time per semester is necessary. Sure, you can contact tutors and organise things for yourself, but how are you supposed to know if your are not hitting targets if your honest belief is that you are? The whole course experience feels like a production line in my case, and very inflexible and insincere. Kind of makes you wonder where they're spending your £9000 a year. Oh yeah, paying for their senior staff...

I felt I learned things from the uni, the halls are good, good events on throughout the semester. There is good support on campus if you're struggling and excellent accessibility to the faculty

Campus is nice, library recently revamped with loads more seating, union facilities like the pub and other bars are nice but general union nightlife is lacking.

I like university of Southampton, overall facilities and support etc are good....... only thing is people keep stealing my knives and forks in halls, so whoever that is can you please stop it

The students union has had issues with rebranding and the vice chancellor pay scandal but seem to be listening to students concerns. The campus is open and has lots of green spaces.

The campus is pretty and has open spaces to go to. The students union has made quite a few mistakes over last few years with rebranding and the vice chancellors pay issue but seems to be listening to students concerns over this.

The university is very average. With sub average sports facilities.a lack of funding for the union as there is too high a focus on creating new buildings. Not looking after students already at the uni.

I am perdonnaly in the Ship Science course and find the overall experience at southampton university very positive and exciting. It is hard work, and the level of understanding required is challenging. This is positive as it pushes ones skills to be far above similar courses in other universities.

University of Southampton has excellent facilities for engineers. Including a fully equipped CNC machining shop, Welding facilities, 3D printing lab equipped with 4 SLS printers and more. The professors are engaging and the material is applied and challenging.

The sport facilities are okay, could have some work done on them but the campus and courses are great

Brilliant university, brilliant people, the campus is clean and has a nice mix of old and new buildings. The library is massive and well equipped but is extremely popular.

We have a pretty brilliant student union, they organise some great activities and nights out, as well as serious stuff, like careers fairs, that are actually really helpful.

The student union has great offerings, and the sports and wellbeing facilities are great - loads of teams and clubs to choose from, with excellent student leadership and a great gym.

The main campus may not be the best looking, however Avenue campus provides a modern place to work and study. Avenue library is comfortable and creates a peaceful working experience. Similarly, some areas in Hartley library provide a good working atmosphere, however, it can often become loud and busy without enough places to work. The Modern languages department is well organised and has so far provided a smooth, stress free university experience.
