The University of Sheffield

The course is brilliant, the lectures useful and the libraries are stunning. My only issue so far has been the colossal affect the strikes have had on my learning.

Good cheap nightlife. The staff are mostly friendly. Some of the lecturers need to retire as they are clearly too old or just not suited to lecturing at all as they show no enthusiasm towards teaching.

Location is good because you have a good level of rural and urban environment. The student's union is absolutely spot on and offers everything you need. Some of the turn around times for exam results are a bit questionable as I had to wait nearly 4 months for one exam result. The people of Sheffield are very friendly and welcoming and most of the lecturers are really down to earth and offer any help you would like. Overall really good university.

Has amazing facilities student union and nightlife in an amazing city! Enjoying my time at uni currently despite how hard I'm finding my course. Potential improvements include greater access to sport and more spaces to study on campus.

Very good night life. It's a well organised club scene with something for everyone and nothing is too far away as all the clubs are within walking distance of uni. Cheap accommodation and a semi decent uni.

The student union is incredible and has so much to offer, friends at hallam are always amazed. My course, history, is so interesting and filled with such intellectually stimulating lecturers who genuinely care and go the extra mile to aid you in your studies.

The course can be unorganised and lack clear information. There are also not enough study spaces in the libraries at exam times. But the student union is great and has so much to do and loads going on.

The Uni of Sheffield markets itself as being symbiotic with the city itself. If you want a uni that doesn't live in the fairytale land of a campus then it's the best I've seen. The lectures are demanding and the facilities are fantastic. The only issues I've had are seating in study periods and some admin issues, but apart from that, the student life here is pretty good.

Campus is all fairly close together making it quick and easy to get to and from different locations. Public transport is great to campus centre if you travel from home or live further out. There are also greats places to eat and drink near university making it great to socialise after your day at university.

Amazing campus, new and state of the art engineering building with more study spaces and new facilities. Student union is consistently rated the best for several years in a row! There are so much stuffs that you can get involved in!
