The University of Salford

University itself is not in a bad shape, constantly rebuilding. The science department is very restricted, most of lectures just include someone standing and reading word by word of a slide. Students union is just a joke, an even bigger joke is the SU bar that has mould all over the place and ridiculously overpriced items on menu. Not enough parking on the campus, and obviously once again crazily overpriced...

Salford isn’t that much of a good university from a prestigious view, but it works hard helping students gain more vocational experience to fight this. The university it’s self is lovely and the most part modern and new however there isn’t much to do or a student vibe in Salford compared to the other universities in Manchester.

Lecture rooms are not great. Most of our lectures are in a big learning space. It's either too cold or too hot. Lecturers are very good and provide good material. Some of the lectures seem a bit pointless, like they are filling the time table up. Good personal tutor support. Good use of communal space in my campus. With laptop loans to offer which is good.

Study film production. Needs improvement on the teaching staff majorly. Could be a great course if that aspect is improved.

Salford university is a very diverse institute with pupils of many ages and different backgrounds. Overall the teaching and university facilities are adequate , however a lot of improvement is required in terms of student culture and reputation.

Good campus, Not a good variety of societies and sport teams, expensive food. Nice variety of food. Student bar overpriced. Bad communication with course leaders. Good facilities, good library, good mac suites, hard to contact freelance tutors. Lots of campus events.

I’ve had an overall good experience at the uni of salford, there are some things that need to change, as the uni doesn’t think our course is that important so we don’t get a proper classroom and it’s very small for the amount of students on the course. The other facilities are good such as the gym, the halls, library etc.

The staff have been on strike and have missed over half of my semester. I did not learn anything from those classes because the professors were missing and refused to even answer emails. Also, scheduling was a nightmare and my advisors could not even tell me where my class was being held until week 3 of the class.

The facilities and teaching are very good and they provide a lot of support. As well as this teachers are extremely attentive and helpful.

Not a big fan of the uni, most lecturers don’t know what they are talking about. Facilities however are very good and usually always clean. Never been to the student union but friends have who say it is decent.

At Salford university it really depends on the course you do in terms of having a good facility. If you are doing media or anything like that they are brilliant because you have access to media city and really good equipment. Where as in the Engineering department there isn’t a lot you can actually do. There is no practical side to it really. The lecture halls are mostly modern and have everything you would need.
