The University of Reading

Good overall, but development work for the library is taking a stupid amount of time and deadlines keep getting pushed back. Poor communication between lecturers with impossible expectations of workloads.

Campus is great, lecture are friendly and helpful for the most part. Halls are too expensive, as are Freshers wristbands and summer ball tickets. The student union venue is great, huge capacity, 3 bars in the main room, 3 more elsewhere, but not much live music unless you like DJs and EDM. The union reps themselves are useless. They condemned the UCU strike and make no meaningful differences to the student experience. Very bureaucratic and take forever to even approve societies. Vice chancellor David Bell is a selfish rich man who only really cares about his salary and how much money the uni made last year so he can justify increasing his salary.

A really fun campus with loads of support from staff. Loads of societies available for different activities and everyone is inclusive of each other. I've really enjoyed my experience so far. Buildings are a little old but still always clean and comfortable.

The University grounds are large and well kept it's a nice campus to relax or work on. The facilities are mostly good the main issue at the moment is the pointless updates to the library exterior which has left us without a proper libary. The staff have always been really helpful and easy to contact.

Incredible! The campus is beautiful! It's a shame that the library is being refurbished so we have limited space for study but other than that - from the facilities to the students union, Reading has so much to offer!

Absolutely brilliant, beautiful campus, lovely teaching staff and an amazing course. Plenty of facilities and a very caring family environment.

Very good facilities in the Henley Business School, course comes with a guaranteed job with PWC if I get a 2:1. Lecturers very helpful, very good university.

An amazing on campus university with a large range of sports and societies to get involved in! Couldnt see myself going anywhere else!

Not in the best location as either you walk for over 30 mins to wherever you want to go or have to rely on the bus. Having said that the bus is fairly cheap - £2.50 for an all day ticket. Some of the halls could do with being a bit more modern, some from the oitside others from the inside.

Reading uni has a beautiful campus which is especially amazing to walk around in the summer. The student union has services in it and turns into a nightclub at night! Also, there are lots of different job opportunities available so students have lots of options

Lovely campus, great location. Lack of communication between staff and students on important matters. Don’t feel I get the value for money as have 6 hours a week in third year...

I was skeptical about the Uni at first. But it has truly exceeded many of my expectations. The beautiful campus, the sheer open space where you can roam around freely and just relax is truly satisfying. Not to mention the lake where a morning jog is just perfect. The town itself feels homely and everything is about a 10 minute walk away.

The campus is pretty and safe, the buildings themselves could do with some updating- as heating and seats are not always ideal. There is always a lot of construction and improvement - in teaching and facilities, which is good, but can sometimes be disruptive. Reading does invest a lot into students, there are a lot of resources and support networks- campus jobs, councilling, financial advice, placement and grad job advisors.

The campus is beautiful, very natural and very big. There is lots of facilities on campus with everything you could need. The gym is really good with everything you could possibly need in good condition. The nightlife is great there is always stuff going on and special events. The student union always making an effort raising weakness of different issues and tries to improve student life. My course (biomedical science) is interesting and I enjoy it though the leaders often group all sciences with an aspect of biology together this has often resulted in me sitting in on compulsory zoology talks.

Rubbish. No library. Student union is closing ina few weeks until the end of the year. I only have 5 contact hours a week and most of those are just lecturers reading straight off of PowerPoint.

Good societies, good halls, nice campus, good area, love the 2£ pints, the town is good but nightlife isn’t great, needs more variety.

There is an amazing gym where you pay around 20 pound a month and can get access to the gym facilities and loads of classes. A main disadvantage is that the library is currently being re-built and there is currently limited spaces which can be really frustrating. An advantage is that all the staff are really friendly and approachable.

the campus and facilities are amazing, but I couldn't give a full 5 stars because I am a commuting student from an hour away. I feel that I am left out of a lot of things including when the uni added extra study spaces- it was in halls and does not help any commuting student at all. there should be more done to make commuting students more comfortable, since we have the most stressful time

Doing teacher training- very supportive staff with lots of opportunity to be the best you possible. I would highly recommend this course for trainee teachers

The campus is absolutely beautiful, with a large variety of greenery which provides plenty of space to go on relaxing walks to de stress. The campus is vast, so there is always a lot to do. Everything you may need is in reach. For example, there is a Starbucks, a CoOp and also other food facitilities. Staff are always helpful and so are the people. The students are diverse and it’s a great pool to meet new people and make potential friends.
