This university is vibrant and welcoming! I come from France and knew no one but via the diffrent socials and societies. The accommodation here is good and comfortable . There are plenty of study areas and quiet spaces ... The food is also great ! The thing that struck me the most is the homelyness and welcoming qualities of the staff and other students there ....

Amazing university. Great courses! Lectures interesting and always have a great choice of optional modules enabling you to chose modules that really interest you. A lot of support is given from whatever area is needed. Campus is great with lots of open space and green areas.

I barely have a bad word to say about University of Reading. There are wonderful support systems, incredible teams of lecturers, and the best security services I’ve ever heard of in any university. The green spaces on campus are so fresh and different for a town so close to London. The study facilities are extensive, as are the optional modules in the course (History). There’s a great selection of halls- although I wouldn’t reccomend catered at University of Reading as I have heard the variety isn’t ideal, and the on campus halls especially allow you to really make friends. The student union is loved by everyone too. Whilst Reading is quite an expensive town, the Uni campus offers a large variety of discounted bars and cafes to help you get out of your halls without spending a fortune. Overall, the staff and the support are what makes the experience at the uni so much better, and the massive variety of choices and options on my course, not to mention the excellent sports facilities and variety of teams.

University of Reading was my first choice, I'm currently a first year just finished my first term studying English literature and theatre. The university campus is lovely, there's a lovely presence of nature and the gorgeous lake close to any point of the campus. The place is clean (unless the student union night out happened the night before, but it's cleaned quickly) just about all necessities are accessible. One thing I didn't take into account though that the county of Berkshire and being near London ramps up prices a bit, but it's still manageable. The buildings are well kept, the library is almost finished being refurbished and it absolutely top class. I'm mainly based at Edith Morley and Mingella and both have zero issues with accessibility, cleanness and being able to find places. Obivously Literature doesn't mean the most resources, but Mingella has everything a tech geek like me would be able to work with and room to expand. It's clearly well-established. The Lecture theatre's I can't really think of any issues with, aside Mingella occasionally forgets to turn off lighting plans from previous events (a very distracting lecture). But the maintenance staff and technical staff are always on hand to solve these issues. In terms of English, most of the lecturers doors are always open, for any issue or question with work, same goes for theatre. The sports facilities are compact, but effective. I mainly use the halls for Badminton and occasionally the gym, they're both affordable, accommodating and capable, but often crowded. The Student Union is lovely, it really is. The staff are accommodating, the shops and staff are lovely, and is fantastic for keeping students up to date, there's always something going on. and its weekly clubs (Wednesday and Saturday) are often packed with something for everyone, again though, it seems a little packed a lot of the time. The societies are absolutely fab, and I couldn't recommend them enough!! Going into University with a general and a specializing subject. I was very aware and eager to get a head start on career options to consider shaping my degree towards during or after. I got just that. there are career fairs and regular updates by email and course reps for internships, work experience and further education in business, law, but general enough to offer something for any interest. Overall, the whole place is well organised and established, I thoroughly recommend it as a fantastic opportunity for opportunity, if you can take them!

I moved from Dublin to Reading straight from school and it became home. I loved the campus, the town and the people. Really ideal university for people who want a bigger city feel still within campus grounds. It's proximity to London also meant it was the ideal place for airport commutes and trips to London

The campus is vast and full of so much greenery. I love the beauty and nature of the campus. Obviously it doesn't effect learning but I would much rather have this wonderful place to study than not. The lake is especially pretty to walk around and attracts, dog walkers, runners and cyclists which is good too. I do straight History which has been very rewarding. Often there isn't enough contact hours but I love the available modules and that they are all even. I think the core modules should have an in class test so that we are more encouraged to attend class in first and second year. Hall are way too expensive for what they are. I loved living in them but I don't get enough money from the government to cover halls at all. I think real effort should be put in to try and make halls experience cheaper for students.

Before university I knew I had an interest in geography and that getting a degree would benefit me in any career surrounding humanities, now I am extremely passionate for many areas of my subject I didn't even knew existed and am applying for additional study in meteorology. All lecturers are extremely approachable and have helped massively both inside and outside of the modules. The facilities that Reading currently has are good, and once the library is finished will be even better. I have taken part in volunteer programmes set up by the university, life classes, career development days, language modules and field classes, and everything run by the university is professional and useful. Night life is great because there are a range of reasonable sized clubs and different events, and the union has a real community feel. There are societies to fit every interest, and this year a social netball league within the university has been added which gives even more opportunities to people who just want to play sport for fun. There are things that can be improved in every university, but I will be genuinely sad when I finish studying at Reading.

I love the campus, I prefer it to a city style uni. It's a very calm, nice campus and I feel safe walking around it. My course is intense but so so good and is an amazing opportunity for me and what I want to do in the future. The mental health team are also really supportive, as is student support to assist the academic side of things.

I have studied law and most of the teaching staff was extremely helpful. I really enjoyed my course and lecturers passion made more challenging modules more enjoyable. I think student union provides great facilities.

The campus I've seen are very nicely organised, full of kind friendly students and always clean. Compared to other campuses I have come across at other universities. The organisation generally is very helpful especially the help desk in the student area.

Excellent university with great facilities for students. The union provide lots of helpful advice for students whilst most lecturers are friendly and approachable and willing to help out students although a few are less helpful. The course is very good and develops knowledge of one subject year on year if I wish so it doesn't jump around. A lot of options to choose modules and can sometimes choose outside the standard modules for your course.

I feel as though the student Union (RUSU) is extremely helpful they take all of your concerns seriously. There is also a lot of help offered for career advice, which is very comforting as they can help you find the right career path that suits you. However I wish they had more study spaces on campus, with the library being refurbished there isn't much space left.
