I love that it is a city university. Every building is not a far walk from each other. One of the best facilities the university has is that it has a free university bus! The student union is decent. Great place to chill and have socials. There is also a place to study upstairs which is preferred by several students as the library is busy. The university also work with a company called Printt which allows students to print free. This is especially good for readings. There is good career services set up which also includes a dedicated placement office in the Business school. My course is excellent. Feedback is taken and actually used to improve the course.

I think the University of Portsmouth is great! I have enjoyed my time here so far. The student support is superb and the lecturers (at least for Sociology) show genuine care and dedication towards their jobs and their students.

The university has been my home for almost 4 years. I picked the university because it has a great reputation for teaching, for being a great student community and because the activities offered allow you to work hard but also have fun making new friends. The university has so many great work spaces for students. Which means you can leave a lecture and only be 2 minutes from a computer room or a small walk from the library. The library at the university of Portsmouth is so helpful, they have thousands of books and research papers available to every student. They even have access to research papers so that you can download them and take them to your home. The moodle site used by the university is great as you can work from home or the university and have lecture recording available for you to listen to again for further understanding of the subject. The lecturers themselves have and still are so passionate about the subject they teach which really makes it exciting to learn about. They involve you in new research that is coming up in the university and if you want more experience they will offer as help they can. If you have any issues with the course or with the life, the lecturers and tutors are willing to talk to you to make things better and if they can't help with all your queries they will put you in contact with those who can.

I'm currently in my first year of study and already feel overwhelmingly supported and believe that my lecturers have every faith in us to do well throughout our time at Portsmouth. The uni buildings are easily accessible and within close distances of each other and the halls of residences. All in all I'm really enjoying my time so far at the uni.

The university has an inclusive policy where all students receive the help that they need. They have a specific office related to careers advice and are always happy to assist

Portsmouth is generally a nice area. They are building a lot more student halls so more first year students are able to secure accommodation with the university. There are lots of restaurants all around Southsea. However, there aren't as many things to do and clubbing is only fun for so long. The library is also very small (only two floors!) and gets filled up very quickly. Don't even bother trying to get a space during exam period if you plan on getting there past midday. I really enjoy the course I'm doing (pharmacy) as it focus a lot on the clinical and practical sides of it. They also prepare the students for OSCEs and the pre-registration exam from day one and I know that some universities don't start doing this until third year. Overall it's a good uni, I just wish the library was bigger and there were more activities to do.

Portsmouth University is great for those wanting plenty of opportunity to socialise and meet people, with a great selection of societies to choose from, as well as the shared student accommodation, it provides plenty of chances to meet people outside of your course. There's also a great student union uni bar to meet up and chill, without having to break the bank on Portsmouth prices. The Career service is known as Purple Door, and is a great place to hear about career opportunities, and they're happy to have one to one meetings, as well as through emails. Even after graduating you will still receive emails with opportunities from them. I would say a negative would be the accommodation, some being more outdated than others, as well as some being much further away from the actual University buildings, it can be a bit annoying on nights out.

Average University, did not enjoy my studies however halls were nice. General studies were okay. Teachers were not very helpful when I had difficulties with my studies.

Whilst I had several issues with the university, the technology and resources were of high standard. Not the best but not the worst.

The university is slightly spread out but not so much that you can't get from one place to another quickly, useful for when you have a practical straight after a lecture. There's a lot of different places to work, each with a unique vibe sk yiu can always find that perfect spot where you can get work done. Near the university, there are a few pubs meaning cheap lunch and dinners and a lot of cafes around the place.

The lectures and lecturers are interesting. Easy to get private accommodation which is affordable. Great nightlife and great city in general

The univeristy is all right with decent facilities and learning areas. However not enough faculty and not enough investment on lectures and actual course content.

It is a fast growing and rising university in the rankings. This comes with both good and bad points. The uni is expanding rapidly and investing a lot in new buildings and facilities but not enough really. areas such as the library are horribly crowded especially at the end of the year. Also some more traditional courses (e.g. history, geography) are sort of pushed to the side while more digital and computers courses are given brand new and expensive facilities.

I recently started studying Journalism at The School of Journalism in Manchester, a course run by Plymouth Marjon. Since starting the course in September I have been given such incredible opportunities to build up my journalism portfolio, such as, interviewing Jack Maynard, documenting the opening of a new restaurant in Manchester and most recently I have been asked to attend Hits Radio Live and write up a story and interview the acts. As well as the opportunities, the support from the staff is amazing. I know that whatever problem I have, minor or huge, they're there to help. A smaller institute has made my university experience so much more relaxed and enjoyable. I can't wait for what the future holds!

The facilities of the university, such as, gym, classes within the gym are very good and help me enjoy my unidays here in Portsmouth. The student union is a nice place for students to hang around and have fun.

The campus is all situated in the centre of the city so it's easily accessible by any mode of transportation, as well as being near student hubs and food and drink areas after long lectures! The buildings aren't too far apart from eachother so you won't have to worry about being late too late to you're next lecture/seminar if you're running a bit late.

I am taking sociology with psych. The course is well put together and all members of staff that I have come across have been very friendly. Campus is always free and there is enough seatings outside and in.
